Some serious questions about Matthew Nicks and his coaching future may be asked if the Crows lose badly against a very young but talented Pies outfit.

On paper, Adelaide should win I think, but I just don't know if they are mentally shell shocked from their stunning loss to Fremantle.

Looking foward to seeing how Nick Daicos and the vastly improving Quaynor performance for the Pies, should be a fairly good game to watch with a lot of young talent on show (on both teams)

Has Quaynor improved as a player?

It might be that our previous coach got his tactics wrong for eg.. which didnt alllow Quaynor to perform at his best.. so a ranking of say a 5/10 under our previous coach is like the equivalent of a 7/10 ranking under our current coach.

Could be that the Fly wants Quaynor to enjoy himself more out there.. take more risks.. attack more from the backline.. go out and snag a few more sausage rolls on the run.. qualities he had as a player under our previous coach.. never made effective use of though.

Promising signs the Fly will inspire this bloke to reach close to his peak.

Interesting to see how Sidebottom WHE Grundy.. these sort of blokes perform under the Fly.. time might have caught up with a couple of em.. but I still think the Fly will inspire them enough to play really good footy and surprise a few.

Nick Daicos in first game of football.. was doing what Sam Walsh was doing in his 3rd yr minus the clangers..

Can't wait to watch our future brownlow medallist in this one.

Wasn't his first touch literally a turnover for a Saints goal?

It was a bluff.. he wanted to give everyone the impression he was a 3rd yr Sam Walsh launching into a sack of spuds.. so he could catch everyone off guard.. and everyone was like.. oh he's not that good.. oh he's not that good.. never mind him.. then he took over.

All class.

The Crows looked awful for a large chunk of the game last week before springing to life in the second half after Freo failed to put them away. I’m not sure they’ll be given the same chance against the Magpies. Collingwood by 31

Interestingly this is the first time these 2 have met in Melbourne in 5 years. Which Adelaide will be happy about seems though they don’t have to play us on the Adelaide Oval, a ground in which we never lose.

Crows always seem to play the MCG pretty well, tight game, flip of the coin.

Initially not much looking forward to this game. Pies had a fun outing last week against the Abbot and Costellos of the VFL AFL. Lots of laughs and slapstick for the whole family.

Pies must be quite excited with the energetic and optimistic youth, the rearrangements of player positions, the general Woodstock feeling during and after the game. Nora, my 43 yearold neighbour, a Pies diehard, did not make it home last Friday, we believe she broke her drought with a drunken nondiscerning cheer squad member. All good.

Now that the cat is out of the bag, and the Crows will be shattered with last week's loss, there is enough to suggest this game could be even...Crows can play when they want and they should be further along the development curve. Pies will find it tougher to follow up.

Don't be surprised if Crows win by 3 goals.
