Have we? How much did we win our last 3 games by?
Getting pushed is more than just the final margin. Biggest difference in the Essendon game was the quality of the chances being created and how well both teams took them. Essendon kicked 9.16 and missed plenty of goals you'd expect an AFL team to kick. Carlton never looked like losing, but the game was more even then the margin showed.

The Port game was 1 goal the difference at 3 quarter time. Carlton dominated the last quarter to win the match but Port did push them for a lot of that game. Ultimately the better team broke the game open as I expected would happen when watching the game live.

Gold Coast struggle away from NT or Metricon. That being said, margin was 2.5 goals at 3 quarter time and it was a burst from Carlton at the start of the last that put the game beyond reach before Gold Coast kicked a couple of junk time goals. Once again, ultimately Carlton's superior class shone through and won them the match, but Gold Coast pushed them for large parts of that match.

All of these matches have been comfortable wins to Carlton but Carlton have been pushed for large patches of all of them. The Essendon match more so although Essendon definitely didn't make the most of their chances to ever really challenge on the scoreboard.

Cats got away with it longer than anyone excepted but their old blokes are done now.

Unless some superstar wasn't to live down the coast they won't be a factor for while.
