I think there were talks back then that we tried that but Norf knocked it back. Seems as if they've changed their tune due to getting FOMO + a delusion of finishing high next year.

If anyone should feel played, it's Norf. Both for knocking us back and again for doing such a lopsided deal for 27. Lmao.

You don't know that deal eventuates at the time though. Melbourne offered a good deal for 9, we took it presumably because it was the best we could do pre draft.

We have actually done pretty well.

I’m very pleased with where it all sits.

If you said at the start of the trade period that we’ve somehow managed to basically secure 4 picks in the top 40 of an apparently strong and deep draft and also improved our 2025 draft hand without giving anything away no one would believe you or be able to explain how we could reasonably get that done.

The wide consensus even by Twomey was that Kako would've been bid on early if our insurance wasn't sorted and #11 (which is what Melbourne's pick ended up being) wouldn't have gotten a "haul" as you claim.

Rosa didn’t get played. North are just ******ed. It’s honestly the worst trade in afl history, and the suns have made some pretty bad ones. They have to win at least 12 games next year for it to be somewhat reasonable

If we held the pick on draft night there would have been incentive for someone to bid on Kako early to make us trade the pick. St Kilda almost certainly would have done it. Trading it was the right call as we more than likely got a better deal than if we had to make a trade in 3 minutes with some players already off the board.

I'd like to try and get 29 from the dogs and get Shanahan or Whitlock.

Maybe a F1, F2 and 37/39/43 for F1 and 27? Dogs probably not too keen on KPF so probably dont mind sliding back a few spots but the price north just paid means we probably have to pay a fair bit
