i had a similar game to the one i previously mentioned custom essencsum team 4.5 stars and upped stats and 2 or more players he won the game by 40 points i gave him a nicley worded message explaining to him what he did wrong.

he responded with a something that actually surprised me he said something along the lines of " hey mate we realised that you were 1 player and we didnt want to smash you because that wouldnt be fair if it was possible we would have liked to vs another custom team with the same amount of players but we were matched up with you and that was not our fault".

That realy shocked me i usually get someone send a message back saying you fing this or fing that, get over it,we did this fair and square,we didnt cheat, your just a shit c**t and so on so i take my hat off to you sir whoever you are i cant remember your name.
Wow.....definitely not the response you'd expect.... Good on him for being honest. I suppose it's true.....he doesn't pick the game.... and you only find out you're 3v1 after you start the match....

Having a great run online at the moment. Have played 5 games since I got home, and all 5 have quit before qtr time, including a hopeless 2 on 1 I was 40-6 up on. I'm not complaining though, it's really helping my streak and boosting my XP in quick time!

AFL Live gets a lot of negative feedback for it's online component, but my god when you get a balanced game against a good opponent it can be amazing.

Played da_witness last night (I was North Melb, he was GC), and a few other opponents and had some of the best matches yet. They've managed to get so many things right with this release, it's just unfortunate that the few things they got wrong have the potential to make your hair fall out.

Yeah Jebus they've pretty much nailed the online part, of course there are a few issues sometimes if someone has crap internet and the ball turns into an elastic band ball, and the custom teams etc. but in terms of general gameplay it's swesome and the fact that there is no lag (which would really ruin the whole game because of the pace) is amazing. Even madden 11 lags online, hopefully madden 12 is different.

Well said. I often get frustrated with the online matchmaking sometimes but the good games are usually amazingly fun.

Agree with the hair falling out part... just played Wolfpac Bombers on PSN and he did the whole play on from a behind > rush it back through trick in the last quarter when I was 10 goals up. Managed to get him to stop by bumping a player on his half forward flank... but not before my nice 15.2 had turned into an ugly 15.24 :(

part 26.... was looking at part 25 thinking it's really slowed down - gets me every time!

There is some fault for us allowing freedom online, however a lot of it goes to the nature of the people playing, which obviously we can't control. We have a lot of ideas that will improve the online community in whatever it is that we are currently working on ;)

Anyone else been having slight frame rate problems?, noticed it started happening after the patch on the PS3. It seems to happen when the ball goes to ground after the ruckman taps the ball at the centre bounce and when a player kicks a high ball down the ground, its very minor but i'm wondering if there's any way to fix it.

Anyone?, was playing my friend in a private match today and the frame rate was terrible, anyone know what could be causing this?

Think it may be to late to save online, if you read through the comments Ross , you'll see most people are giving up on it, if you are doing something to rectify it, it would want to be quick.

Yeah for all the complaining, i have played the shit out of this game and loved it since it came out in April, only now is the custom teams and multi players vs 1 starting to grate on me.

Thats a bit harsh, Ross is clearly alluding to fixing/making something to make it better, and any improvement is a good improvement. From all the bitching and moaning about the patch, these forums exploded when it came out because people were excited again.
And from an online perspective, i think quite a few people will still play after the season, thats the beauty of online, but we'll see-i'm excited to see what happens:thumbsu:

Personally I think things will keep ticking along over the offseason. We've waited ten years plus for a good AFL game, finally we have one, I think there will be enough die hards around in the off season to keep online going to a degree.

The offseason will also be a time when it's a shame you can't upload custom teams - I imagine a few people out there will update team lineups and create rookies etc. I imagine there will be a fair amount of duplicated effort going on.

Exactrly, more will play in the off season surely. Gotta get your footy fix some how.

Had a very good night tonight, finally (after having a couple of shockers the past 2 days with some terrible timing losses).

Haven't lost a game and have come up against 3 of the top 10 as well as a couple of other 300k+ players.

Beat im_a_chop by coming back from 5 goals to 1 down and got accused of wasting time in the final minutes of the game...when all I was doing was loooking for options, making sure I made safe passes. Surely that's ok to do when you're JUST in front?!!! Far out I couldn't believe I got accused of that when I was just trying to make sure I didn't turn the ball over and lose the damn game after I had worked so hard to pull back a loss (in the wet too, probably the hardest way to come back from such a margin).

Also beat rado321 in a very tightly contested match. And it was good to finally have a normal vs normal team game. Incidentally it was Richmond vs Richmond too.:D

And finally the 3rd top 10 player was JayZ_MVP who was using an overpowered team of AFL stars. Love beating these pricks.

In a lighter note, at least on my side. I beat Archer_11 by 132 points... Sowwy.

Anyway, got my streak up to 8 now after pretty much a day. So hopefully I have the same sort of effort in the next couple of days and finally break my streak record (that last time got ended by a bullshit forfeit!) of 17.

You also beat me tonight (Pinheadion - North Melb). We had a good game for the most part, although you kicked away slightly at the end of the 3rd and held that during the final qtr.

I can see how you would be accused of time wasting, as the tone of the game completely changed in the last qtr and as you said you hold the ball longer looking for more certain passes and became a lot more defensive.
This was your tactic though and it was up to me to change up my style to combat it which i failed to do so more power too you. You still attacked and played the game out fine imo. :thumbsu:

Edit: I forgot to mention!! 14 free kicks to 5 haha, don't tell me you didn't have a little chat to the umpires before the game and slip them a 20 :)

I do hope they include some kind of function to allow for rejoining games after temporary disconnects next year. My horribly unstable internet connection means my net tends to drop out during a game probably one in every five matches. It typically only lasts between 5 seconds and a couple of minutes, but no matter how long its down for, the game ends.

Dunno if reconnecting to a game would be doable like in many other online games, but it sure would be handy. Twice tonight I've conceded a game by getting disconnected while up by a large amount (44-0 in a 1v2 just now). Sure makes building up a decent streak hard.

Too many times in last quarters I've lost leads by making rash decisions. If I don't try to make my passes safer then I risk losing the game altogether and losing momentum. Coming out of the backline is crucial for this too. Still, if I'm in the lead and have worked my way into it and can play safer due to this then stuff you all.:)

I noticed you bring out the bump in the last few minutes too, so tactics can change. ;)

You've gotta let off the sprint in your tackles, definitely noticed the amount of free kicks I got in that. Crazy!

I cant see people's problems with 'time wasting', i mean why shouldnt you be allowed to hold onto the ball to protect a lead, thats what real teams do in the AFL... and pinheadion i think i played you a couple of times tonight, howd you see our games?

Neither, I think its a completely valid tactic. Although it is extremely frustrating when you're on the receiving end.

Anyone at all?, gotta be someone out there that knows whats causing this or how to fix it.

No idea. There is nothing in the patch that would have changed the frame rate, indeed if it was "framey" then it would have failed MS/Sony.
