Congratulations to two former DVFL/NFL juniors who were selected in last night's AFL Draft. Josh Caddy (Eltham) who went as No. 7 and Dion Prestia (West Lalor and Epping) who went as No. 9. A great achievement for both boys who are headed to the Gold Coast Suns to start what hopefully will be a long and successful AFL career.
And before anybody claims credit for these boys achievements that shouldn't (insert here who you think ....) they were products of their respective junior clubs and the former DVFL Junior Development program overseen by Lew "The Godfather" Hall, Noel Smith and Bill Bray. Say what you like about that old scoundrel Peter Floyd (and yes, I am a critic of his as well), but he did support the original junior development program managed by the three aforementioned administrators, which was accepted much more readily by the clubs than the reincarnated one that is forced on clubs now.
