I think Voss is really keen to have Bartlett in the seniror side because of his pace and good skills. That's why he is in the Emergencies. If Bartlett play's well in the reserves this week, and the Lions lose and a few players on the fringe struggle to get the footy, Bartlett may just get a call up. If not I would expect to see him in the side in the next 4 weeks!

Leon Davis out - foot.

FOOT?? Since when has foot replaced 'shithouse form'??

We had plenty of players with injured feet last week. And the week before. Actually the last five weeks.

Its actually "calf", theres no excuse for shit form when you run onto the ground but he has clearly been hampered for a while now, he could barely kick set shots which he used to get blindfolded.

Having so many dangerous small forwards caused us headache's last year, and Didak was the only one we actually held (ironically by Stiller who's been dropped this week ).

Medhurst basically plays as a "Tall Forward" as it is. Sidebottom, Thomas, Didak & Beams are more than handy "Small Forwards".

Unfair on Selwood IMO cos when you look at the "ins", they are not that good and I personally don't rate any of them. TJ may offer something but there is a massive gulf between his best and his worst - hope he will be at his best. Selwood guts it out....hopefully at the end of the season he goes to a club where he will be more appreciated.

Terrific news, Raines is out lets hope it is for good.

Collier in is good news to, lets hope he gets an extended run. The guy is a confidence player and will need an extended run to find his feet.

Shedldon played well last year and will bring as much as Addcock has thus far this year.

Vossy!!! What are you doing!!! How the hell can you keep Amon in the side! Selwood must be so flat, he gives it his all for this side, and all these duds voss has traded are doing nothing for us.

Stiller needs games, how can someone get any continuity when they go in an out every 2nd week - if voss has him out now he should stay out.

Pick a side, and stick with it for the next 5 weeks, unless someone is injured don't change a freaking thing!

Couldn't agree more re Selwood, absolutely bleeds for the club, yet Voss continually selects soft players like Selwood and then to rub salt in the wound, keeps playing a useless blow-in like Buchanan who is worthless, does nothing and will never put himself on the line to the extent Selwood does. What's even worse is that Selwood's game against Sydney was quite good, yet he is omitted immediately and then half a dozen players continuously back up with shite and soft games week after week.

I disgree re TJ - a massive gulf b/w his best and worst. I could make the same argument for Brown, Power, Black, Rich, Redden and a dozen more. Since the merger, I have never seen a bigger scapegoat than TJ at the club. It would be nice if Coach Voss just for once uses the same reasoning and logic for all players at the selection table.

Agree re Selwood>>>>>Buchanan. Disagree on Stiller. Pretty much the softest player in the team. I know they all can't be superstars, but he isn't up to it and his skills are pretty poor. I would rather us persist with a Harwood or Bartlett and pump some games into them than persist with Stiller or hell, for once give Proud a good go for like 10 games when or if he returns, at least he is hard and not afraid to shirk a contest unlike a lot in the team.

Rang SEN this evening when they were talking about our game.

Finey was saying, "Luke Power: Where's he at? He looks slow, he looks out of touch, he looks old."

So, I got angry, and dialled. I'd put that prick in his place.

Answered the receptionist questions, said the reason I called, was on air in 30 seconds...

Finey: Talking to Cameron from Barwon Heads, he wants to talk about Luke Power.
Me: Yes, I wanted to pull you up, Finey. I know you don't like interstate clubs very much, and you seem to have a set against the Lions, though I don't know why, but knocking Luke Power on the verge of his 250th seems far too far below the belt for mine, and I thought I had to ring you up to remind you of how good a player he has been, and to remind you that you - as a journalist - should have known it was his 250th and perhaps mentioned that instead of talking up your own interstate agenda.

Then I hung up.

Well, that's how I wanted it to come out......

It was actually something like this:

Finey: Talking to Cameron from Barwon Heads, he wants to talk about Luke Power.
ME: Yeah hi, I wanted to congratulate Luke Power on his 250th this weekend. Yes perhaps he's getting a little slower now, and you brought that up Finey which was pretty mean given the occasion, and I just wanted to say what a great Lion he's been and congratulations to him on 250 games, and what better place than the Gabba to celebrate it.

So, not quite said as I planned, but from me dialling the number to completing my spiel would've been less than 1 minute (like TBD's sex life, I am told! Ha! I'll hide this comment with white ink, don't worry TBD, secret's safe with me :thumbsu: ), but I wish I'd been a tad more cutting with my words... no planning there. An extra minute and I'd have been OK, didn't expect to be on so quick.

Oddest thing...? They gave me a prize. A book. Perhaps the guys out back don't like Finey either.

I woke up this morning with a very fervent feeling inside me. It's called a hangover. That's OK, I'll just have a quiet one tonight and be raring to go tomorrow night. However, I had another fervent feeling inside me, too, and this is the reason for the post.

That feeling was victory.

That's right, Victory. With a capital V. V for Vossy. V for Very Good Win. V for Brownie.

I can feel it, stirring within me. Some might say it's last night's curry, but they'd be pessimists, because personally, I say it is not the Lamb Korma that stirs, but impending Victory!

Charge!!!

would have been much better if you went with conversation A. Finey is a w***er

i had a dream last night...

browny kicked 9 goals to beat collingwood to show the rest of the comp that he has overcome his injury.

he was, one again, being lauded as one of the greatest CHF.

People from far and wide (pies board, dogs board, swans board etc.) were entering our realm and congratulating browny on his performance.

PLEASE COME TRUE

Unfortunately, that myth is dead...he won the toss last week and we lost, otherwise, up until then, the result of the toss matched the outcome of our game.

I figure it was simply over-powered by the bad mojo from the white strip.

Yeah, I’m with you brenjay - in a world with parallel synchronised randomness…

All the people are dancing
and they're having such fun
I wish it could happen to me – “After Hours” – Velvet Underground

Surely... a person whose vivid dreams and imagination interferes with their ability to interact with reality... sometimes gets it right… ;)

How about if we all select Browny as our SC captain this week – if enough of us do it – it will happen yeah?

Just think of it as a proactive reverse of voodoo dolling... :D

I like this theory Freddie. Along similiar lines, you're not paranoid if people really are following you.
