If it was me a lot more than Swanny would be in the VFL. The whole team, not including the following players. Ball, Keeffe, Reid, Maxy, Wellingham, Rusty, Beamer, Fasolo, Blair and Cloke!

Good list.

Guys - Sinclair wasn't good but where was the young player's support? When guys like Thomas, Pendles and Swan are doing **** all how can we point the finger at the pup?

Let's fast forward to Round 18. The Pies finals hopes are dashed and we've failed to win a game in the last 8 rounds. We have a full deck of players to choose from and yet we still can't manage more than 9 goals a game. We bleed an average of 14 goals a game.

You have every right to look at the coaches then. It's round 3 Jock McHale....round 3.

Jock McHale? Thanks for the compliment, I think....

Let us all hope that it doesn't come to that then hey? We all want the team to be in finals contention by round 18.

Maybe addressing these issues in round 3 may go a long way to getting us to that position.

Or, we can just flick that Collingwood "switch"

Forgive the intrusion people but i need to say something here. Obviously its easy from an outsiders point of view but with the injuries you have at the moment, unfortunately your gonna leak goals...BADLY. Your best defenders are out and you wonder why your 2nd raters cant stop carlton running amok.

Your 2 biggest worries are Jolly...and physical pressure.

Jolly cant jump, the amount of 1st hits that carlton had tonight gave them first use...and you got destroyed in clearances. All because Jolly isnt jumping...and dont talk up wood...hes nothing. IM worried about calrton cos we have no solid ruck division but i know that our big bodies will smash smaller carlton ones, its thier pace we have to worry about, but stopping that only takes some physical football.

Which is my 2nd worry for you fpguys...absolutley no physical pressure tonight...and i must say, probably the softest you have been since about 2005.

Hope the injuries clear up soon and your back and firing cos your tackling and physical pressure make the game great to watch.

Best of luck for the rest of the season.

I reckon sinkers has done well. Good chase for the ball.

Sinclair was a liability. He fumbled. He panicked. He sprayed his kicks everywhere except where they were meant to go. He couldn't stick a tackle because he is a twig and doesn't have a build to do it at AFL level. Besides his go he offerred nothing.

Nah, there aint no switch but if there was one, Buckley can't flick it on. All sides look like a rabble when they're being comprehensively smacked. I still have memories of early games in 2010 and seasons before when a flag looked decades away.
Buckley will cop shite from fans and foe but he has time on his side. MM would have done nothing to stop tonight's spanking.

It's a bit rough to blame Bucks - it's not as if he said in the pre-match meeting and said, "Boys, it's a big game tonight so I really want you to spud it up. Swanny - want to to fumble and **** around with the football like when you were 15 years old and were battling away with the clasp on your first girlfriend's bra. Jolly, mate I'll be disappointed if you don't give away 20 free kicks in the contest, got me?"

Hands up anyone who was genuinely surprised we lost tonight? Hands? Not many? Didn't think so :)

That's not in a negative way, either. How many of you actually went, or sat on the couch, and said to yourselves, 'I reckon we're on tonight.'?

We blindly say 'yes' and believe our club will get the points, but sometimes - and particularly in the current circumstances - that's just not going to happen.

Lots of players out...two injuries before half time, Pendles had a bad night (those Bronx jeers when he got it were appalling), and while we all got frustrated at the game, most of us would have known from the very outset that tonight was going to be tough.

They are learning a new game plan, a new structure, and it's going to take time. Stop being so bloody whiny and declaring the world's end. Holy moly! What do you guys do? Just sit on the keyboards with the negative lock on? And just what the hell do you do in the off-season? Beat your families to prevent pent-up anger at people in the forum?

I agree 100%

The shock of what we witnessed tonight was severe as we have been spoilt the last few years with a lot of exceptional wins and great games.

But tonight something was off. And the fact that it seemed to affect the whole team was a worry. (and it was Carlton of all bloody teams!)

It was just a bad day
We all have them, all teams have them.

Let's move on.

If we lose to Port, then ANZAC Day....well then the panic can set in.

So far we nearly pipped the Hawks with ...I think... 8 players out.
Beat the Tiges with a 10 min spurt, then relaxed.
Got spanked in all areas by an up and about Carltank.

BJ, Dids, N Brown can't be far off.

We aren't as bad as we played tonight. We have too much talent. Who knows, it might be what we need to pull our heads in and get back to playing for the jumper.

Heres hoping the others have peaked early, and we hit form when it matters.

Only the captain can hold his head up after that performance.

Keefe was ok, it was hard for him with the huge amount of ball coming down, especially after Reid went off.

Everyone else can go and get ****ed.

Maxwell was poor after the half, good 1st half though when most were poor.

O'brien should be dropped WOG for last 3 weeks.

Dawes is another who is horribly out of form.

Swan getting big number but has been subpar and looks to be coasting.

No intesity at all from the team as a whole.

I also don't like Bucks moto of player self motivation and think he needs to re-asses this theory.

This man speaks a lot of truth.

1. Pies defense is atrocious, Slow, low intensity, soft. Never seen this since mid 2000s.

2. Tackling was bottom rung level, what happened to the strong and fierce tackles of the last few years?

3. Forget Bucks for now, it's been 3 games. Tactically it's under construction BUT
Player individual efforts have been below top 8 level no excuses from the veterans.

4. Jolly looks like a back up ruck these says.... No lift, no intensity, no energy... Wow.

Ben Reid also either still injured or put on 20kg weight on his legs... SLLOOWW...
A liability at the moment.

People that believe this was a bad "one of night" need to wake up! Our performances have clearly been dropping off since last year. That renowned pressure and tackling intensity, and those high scoring quarters have all but gone.

Personally, I believe we were found out last night. Pendlebury was heavily and successfully tagged. He is such an important part of our team, and negating his influence successfully seems to have consequences to our overall ability to perform. This is disappointing really, because he is such a good player and I hate not seeing him in action! However, it's a good thing if you are an opposition side!

I am sick of injuries being our excuses. They are all but a small part of the puzzle. Even if we had Ball and Reid fit last night, we still would have lost by 40 points plus. If injuries are our excuse then we have a shit depth of players/recruits.

I don't like picking on players but I just have to today.

Jolly - What is wrong with you? You were outmuscled and out rucked by Carlton’s younger ruckman.

Dawes - Please stop putting your hands out in the air expecting the ball to drop in your hands! I believe he needs to change his style because it is rubbish.

To finalise this post, I want to say that I believe currently, we are a team that sits in the top of the bottom 9 based on last years end and this years start. Something has changed since our domination 2 years ago. Yes it is early on in the season, but my reason for this post is that this form change has been an ongoing affair since last year. If we are seriously going to be a top 4 side, then there needs to be drastic changes to the way we play.
