Nice game from Zali and also all our debs
We have looked very good just our forwards, but just shows how hard it is to be a forward if they are not hitting you on your chest

Seems we were about 14 goals down this time last year.... so good improvement.
WE are really hanging in this and its good to see.
Nina looks good.. SVH too.. GP is a gun. Still need to be cleaner ball in hand and we need a marking CHF. Phoebe had a chance but kinda like she does... didnt take full toll of it.
But overall massive lift on last year.

I love the intent to move it fast at times, though it felt like they were perhaps over-handballing at times (weirdly, felt like Nina and Georgie were throwing it on the boot whenever they got it).
But the big improvement (so far) is the pressure. Last year teams were getting the ball and doing what they liked, but the Kangas aren't getting much clean ball into their F50 and when they do, our defenders are doing their damndest (even when caught out of position).

Can see we are clearly trying to move it with more run & carry through the middle. Another goal less half though is a concern.
Fuller, Kearns, Pres, & Johnson at times, have been impressive of the new gals.

It would bother me if it was a crap side, but North is one of the sides tipped to win the flag
The input I take from this is our best players are being utilised where it counts and it's making a diff.
Nth were early flag favs last year, for our girls to be holding them and within scoring a winning margin I'd be doing a happy dance.

I agree it's not ideal, but it wasn't like last season where we just looked uncompetitive against stronger teams and didn't really give ourselves a chance for quarters at a time
During the first half today we played with much more intent & an attacking mindset, we also created chances but just couldn't finish them
We then kept North scoreless in the second quarter & them only scoring one goal in the first quarter - so it's not like the opposition was just dominating & us looking on
Keryk is in the best shape I've seen, others have queried her selection, not me. She works so hard for the team, that is important.
Sad she made our forward line look better she will be good for our side
