Think there'll be a few Richmond defenders checking their closet and under the bed to ensure Rachael Kearns isn't there before they turn out the light tonight.

Thank goodness - she's had so much bad luck. Hope no effects after the game but she should probably sit the rest of the game out.

I'm glad she was able to take her kick, but don't like the sound that she essentially just collapsed after standing up - not sure we'll see her next week

Kept the team with the 2nd most goals for the season goalless in 3 quarters, and the only goal they did get was as a result of a free kick.

Gotta love that.

No, probably not - I missed that.

If she does miss a week, it's not the end of the world - but it does interrupt any momentum she was starting to get back :-(

Satisfying to see some tangible reward for all of this team's hard work.

For all the talk of improvement under Dan Lowther in 2022 we weren't able to point to the ladder and see any more than the same 4 points we'd managed to scrounge last year. Even more suspect have been the scoreless quarters and often sloppy hands.

But today's result puts a new perspective on the season's progress.

Mon Conti just sooo good, easily one of the 10 best in the comp; I thought we pressured her well but she was still very effective. When she got going she looked capable of sparking Richmond. Great to see Rachael Kearns bringing the forward pressure, I reckon she nailed Conti in strong - and well-executed - tackles on 3 occasions.

Amy McDonald is always crazy competitive, but today her decision making and disposal were a lot more consistently solid.
Her neat left foot kick in the last makes me wonder if perhaps she's been kicking with the wrong foot the past couple of years.
Unlike other weeks she had plenty of midfield support today; Webster was exceptional, she's really starting to develop a handy fend-off and Morrison, Scheer, Moloney and Gardiner all shared the workload.

I thought Maddy McMahon's positioning today was really good all game long; great to see her realising that she can take liberties by advancing as far as the centre square when the time is right.

Kate Darby's sharp ruck clearance goal was just reward for a strong game and excellent season - in a perfect world she would be doing less rucking than she's had to in 2022 - Darby is very effective around the ground but she's not quite competitive enough in the actual ruck contests to play her as a genuine 1st ruck.
Speaking of not ideal Liv Barber into the ruck 2nd game back after a knee injury seemed a bit risky but she was very lively, breaking even in the ruck contests, generating her share of clearances and plucking a couple of marks around the ground. Hope she is ok after the head knock, that collapse as she was preparing to take her kick was worrying.

Loved seeing Moloney thump it 40m with her left foot in the 2nd quarter, you could see her sum up the situation and go for it, good stuff.

Phoebe McWilliams season has gone from strength to strength, she has really fought and scrapped her way to a very decent 9-goal return to date.

Who is it next week, GWS? We should roll them!
