This is the same guy who claimed Scarlett said the flag was in the bag in Round 16 last year, and accused an opposition player of being on drugs because he was towelling Akermanis up in a game.

His opinion means absolutely nothing.

My two favourite Aker moments happened in 2004. The first was in the game at Skilled when someone cleaned him up with a beautiful shirtfront (I think it was Milburn). The second one was in the Preliminary final when Aker was just dawdling on the wing, thinking he had all the time in the world, and Joel Corey came up and absolutely buried him in a tackle. :D

Frackin oath, that brought the house down. And not just Geelong supporters cheering either :D Was right at the height of his unpopularity.

Also J Brown backs us, saying we look ominous. I do respect opinions of those who have played in 3 consec winning GF's, so this time JB's opinion wins.

most fans with half a brain would take Aker's words with a pinch of salt - if u had a whole one then you wouldnt even take that :p

I think geelong win by 4-5 goals - wel thats what im hoping for anyway

GO CATS :p

Aker reckons we'll struggle because too many of our guns, though available are underdone, ie SJ, OTTO, KELLY. They all looked ok last week.

Aker's comments are 12 months out of date.

This time last year they would have been genius. But the 2009 version of the Cats is going into the GF in very nice shape.

I'm going to buck the trend here and say I like Aker, always have, always will.

I don't agree with everything he says, and yes, he can be a tool occasionally, but I like the fact he's willing to talk about anything in a more honest way than others. It's also because of this that his opinion is sought out by others in the media, why ask player a,b,c,d,e,f,g a question when you will get the same answer, when you can ask Aker and at least get an honest response, sometimes revealing, sometimes profound, sometimes idiotic.
At least his idiotic responses are of a very different type to Fev's.
I bet if every player in the league was as forthcoming with their opinions as Aker, we'd see a lot more people offering contradictions with their own previous statements as well.

Plus, he's a damned good footballer.

Does anyone seriously take any notice of w***ermanis's opinions these days ......

Underdone? if anything they'll be much fitter, they all looked alright to me last week. He's a clown :p

Aker reckons that the team with the extra day (i.e saints) will be fresher and therefore win. He says that history backs this up ;) ummmm Aker.. How about last year when the Hawks had 1 day less than the cats. What happened there?????

FLOG

That was very funny:thumbsu::)

Meh. Hackermanis' opinions mostly mean jack to me. He always blows the little, unnecessary things out of proportion.
Isn't it better to be underdone than overdone? St. Kilda were put under immense pressure from the Doggies on Friday Night (Who really should have won) in a very bruising encounter. This must have taken a toll on the fitness of their players, and from what I can see it has.
And how Whackermanis claims the Saints will be fresher because of an extra days break is a load of bull. If he had bothered to check, the fitness of some of the Saints major bodies (e.g. Riewoldt, Goddard, King) is under a cloud and therefore will be tested greatly on Saturday by us, particularly by our hard men and taggers in Rooke, Jimmy, Ling, Moons and Chappy.
Our players appear fresher and readier than the Saints do. The Saints bodies will go into overtime if we can PRESSURE, PRESSURE and PRESSURE (And I mean PRESSURE) them on Saturday.

Three fairly respected names in football (!!) - Matthews, Sheedy and Buckley - have tipped us.

That's enough for me.

Who cares who tips who? It makes no difference.

I do like listening to a tactical breakdown of the game though. And Matthews version was pretty ordinary.

Would have really liked to have heard Laidleys view but he has backed off on his review this week. Probably due to him going to Port. He gave a review but it wasn't as in depth as usual.

One interesting thing he did say was that he had always thought the saints would win. Then he watched the round 14 game again the other day and he said the saints played exceptional and the cats didn't play well at all.

The people that read newspapers to see who picks who or waits with baited breath to hear someones tip is just living in hope of a win. Leave that to the saints supporters. They're the ones that need it.
