He did OK in the finals last year! Clearly it is better if he became a full time mid as he develops but he was actually recruited as a mid/forward and that could be handy rather than just another full time mid waiting on one of our other mids to fall over. As you say, (Both??) Petch, Cameron and Waterman have shown signs and all are different in style. Venables offers something a bit different again.
Maybe Venebles can eventually take on Hutchings role.
He has pace, is really tough in contested situations but struggles to find the ball. Chasing a top ranked player that leads him to the pill might just be ideal

I assumed Menegola was being talked about as part of a three team trade with Hill going to St Kilda and Steven to Geelong, but it seems Geelong are after Hill themselves.

Not sure how Hill and his partner would feel about that, she wants to get back to Melbourne to be close to family and Geelong is apparently a full weekend’s drive away from Melbourne.

Peel Thunder's Tyrone Thorne broke Stephen Hill's agility record of 7.77 with a 7.76. Anyone have any knowledge on him?
Peel colt - good ball winner, good skills. Small in stature. Height 169 cm

Menegola the missing link for the Hill trade .

Freo receive pick 12 + Menegola for Hill is the latest left field hope of helping a deal get done .
Menegola has no trade value . He was on freos list for 2 years before they delisted him.
12 will probably cop a henry bid also

Tyrone Thorn is a dangerous small forward for Peel. Played significantly deeper in the carnival with Henry given more license to roam higher. In colts, he averages about 2 goals a game and managed a couple of league games for Peel late in the year. Did ok, especially considering the size difference.

I like his skill set and would be a useful late pick. He is sub 65 kgs so will need to be patient with him.
