Geelong/Sydney encounters are on a four game run of all containing firsts and/or record breaking occurrences.

In R2 2022 there was the Lance Franklin 1,000th goal which was the first thousandth goal since 1996. The break in play from the crowd swarming the SCG led to what I assume is the longest quarter ever of 61 minutes and 35 seconds.

The next Cat/Swan game was the 2022 GF which was the first time these two original 1897 teams were meeting in the last game of the year.

R6 2023 was a 93 point Geelong victory which gave the Swans their worst ever loss in the John Longmire era. In another twist John Longmire coached the Swans to the biggest loss Geelong has experienced under Chris Scott - R11 2014 which Sydney won by 110.

Lastly R16 2023 was a drawn game which was the first time it happened in a battle between these two 1897 clubs. It had also previously been the last combination of OG teams to refrain from playing in a draw.

17 years from 2015 is 2032. They'll win another one in 2037 if history goes by

There are two identical twins (that phrase is not a tautology in this rare instance) in the AFL called Ben (King and McKay) who are exactly 202cm.

FYI FWIW Max King is also 202cm but Harry McKay is smaller than his brother at “just” 200cm despite being the much larger twin at birth. Their mother Tracey telling The Sunday Age “And the first baby wasn’t getting its nutrients. So the surgeon decided that was it. We’ll get them out now. Ben was quite tiny and Harry was quite huge.”

Who has the kind of time to come up with that nonsense?
David King..."Their the 5th ranked team in the history of the game to be 3rd on inside 50's with a average age of 24 or less to have scores from turnovers over 32.5 points per game...it's what they do"

They were also decided by three shitty umpiring decisions for the three Vic clubs against three interstate clubs 👌
