What injury caused him to be under a cloud before the game?

McGuire and Larkins on 9 said hamstring but Swann said on 3AW before the game that the problem was a sore achilles.

If it was the achilles and he's done some serious damage to it tonight questions would have to be asked.

Pies now saying it was a calf tear, not the ruptured achilles
Wayne Campbell had the same injury to his achilles and it pretty much ruined 2 seasons for him, certainly hope its not that

Campbell still hasn't properly recovered from it, and won't. Though age may play a part in that.

He killed them in the first quarter and we would've won the game had he been fit.

He probably shouldn't have played. Get ready Travis, because you are going to be playing.

As much as i hate him............i really do hope it's not as bad as they were saying on 9.
2 - 3 months is awfull.

Bad luck to the big bloke hope it turns out a 'lesser' (i.e if it's a calf tear) injury than first thought.

The Captaincy really (from what I've seen) seems to suit him too. Always plays well whenever I've seen him in the role. Who (Burns or Clement I suppose?) takes over for next week?

With Bucks and Rocca going down with serious injuries you would want to give it to someone who doesn't get injured a lot, wouldn't want a stigma of injury associated with the captaincy.

He was playing well but you were in front at quarter time by 5 points, I think Rocca going off opened up the forward line and gave Tarrant a paddock to run around in which suited him a lot better.

Hard to say what would have happened had he played out the game.

Rocca was definatly an influential factor I think benefiting our game. But as Tas said the scores were close at 1/4 time either way. I just hope for Anthony's sake he hasn't torn that tendon. Did anyone notice a big silence from Eddie when The Doc. said 3-4 months?

Collingwood can't catch a break, those muscles and bruises will feel very sore tomorrow after a loss such as that, could have gone either way.

Obviously was under a cloud before the game. Said to a C'wood mate at 1/4time it might be an idea to get him off then, would've taken 3 goals for a full game let alone 1 quarter. Did the injury so easy as well, shouldn't have played going by that. At least Tarrant stood up despite the 2 misses though. He isn't a noted long kick so I wouldn't be to harsh on him.

The vision on the telecast showed extensive bandaging applied around the calf, rather than including the ankle - it supports the possibility of calf tear as opposed to Achilles rupture; slightly better news for Pies fans.

Rocca kicked 3 first quarter goals, and one great mark. Once he went off, the side had a massive missing link in that forward-line. Both teams played well, but the roos were a tad better on the night.

Tarrant and Caracella could have easily kicked those goals, and we could have easily won the game, but we didn't. I hope Rocca's injury is only a 3-4 week thing, because we need him to win matches.

Calf/achilles are related. If your achilles is sore, your calfes will be tight also and it is the tightness in the calfs that pulls the achilles.

Absolute dumb move to play him but our medical staff are not exactly covering themselves in glory.

Lets just hope he doesn't get a blood clot which is common with these types of injuries. I like to see the best players in the competition playing, not out injured.

A torn calf is a lot worse than a hammy which is 3-4 weeks
They said it was a pretty bad one too, so you're probably looking at around 6-8

Bad luck for the bid fella, He would probably been the difference if he had played the full game
