Von Loon is described by Essendon as "A solid defender, Van Loon is steadily improving year to year." Not the most exhilarating of descriptions. She's 172 cm and 20 years old. Her youth is in her favour, her in-between height a little less so. She has got 26 games of experience under her belt which is another plus.

AvL sounds like your more accountable sort of defender (the kind we like) rather than one of those flashy, rebounding types. Hopefully in the mould of Robbie Fox.
