I could name at least a dozen Tiger games in the last few years where umps have been worse, but yeah, get what you mean. Lots of the Aussie blokes just about needed snorkels from how far under they were being held.

I believe this is the first time an Aussie men's water polo team has ever progressed beyond the group stage at an Olympics.

What was with that shocking defending for Japans last goal? We let them swim right up so close to the net, for an easy shot. Poor defense has been undone a few of our teams this Olympics.

At least it wasn't a knock out game and we fight another day. That was also Japans only win this tournament. They have scored a few goals up with the best teams, but awfully leaky themselves by miles, hence they finished last in the group. They conceded 83 goals in their 5 games, the next worst team is on 63.

Those stats are weird but not that uncommon. You never see it being equal. Should Japan have hit a few more yes but we had a 5m and didn’t pick the ball up that’s on us.
