the only aussie hip hop group i like is the Hilltop Hoods.

their latest album "the calling" is just speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeciaaaaaaaaal. more into american underground hip hop

in an aside, Flavor Flav turned 46 today. 40 freakin' 6. Does that mean as a 30 year old I can wear a wall clock around my neck like Flav did back in the day? Thought not.

I remember when (well, i read about it anyway) when the good people of adulthood across the US and Australia derided rock n' roll as "not music".
Narrow minds, not liking change and the melding of new styles.

Two Up, Downsyde, 1200 Techniques, Resin Dogs, Hilltops....more to come
Aussie hip hop is on the rise.

As much pain as Aussie hip hop casues me, the Hilltop Hoods put in a special performance at the Gold Coast BDO.

Ive seen 1200 Techniques several times and they were pretty good. They toured a while back with Sonicanimation which was super.

Koolism, those cool dudes from Canberra, especially DJ Axe are very good also.

Aussie Hip Hop is way more relevant to me than US stuff. It is funnier, quirkier, less agressive, less ssexist and macho, and has a totally AUssie flavour to it.

I luv it and I would be one who had previously posted that I hate hip hop and that it is crap.

Aus hip hop is pathetically overexposed at the moment. Just ******** off and learn to sing.

The lack of musical talent required just makes it easier for corporations to fabricate. What do you need, a loop and some spoken word? ********.

you need some rhythm, and musical talent to use your voice as the melodic instrument in a song. imagination and story telling ability which far surpasses that of any other musical style.

... or if we're talking commercial hiphop - a good marketing machine and some ghost writers.

Porthos, Mizz X and PAFC2004 are all scum. ******** you you ********ing scum.

Not a surprise that two of em are Port supporters, ********ing harbourside scum.

Aussie Hip Hop is awesome. So many great artists like TerraFirma, Funkoars, Hilltop Hoods, Bliss n Eso, Bias B, The Herd, 1200 Techniques, Downysyde, Juxtaposition the list goes on.

Why come in here to bash Hip Hop? Normally I wouldnt give in to you pathetic minded people but Hip Hop is close to my heart and I'll be ********ed If I'm gonna stand by and watch pricks like you bash my culture.

Porthos, look at your ********ing post count. What the ********? GO OUTSIDE, GET SOME SUN.

********ing toys.

Your culture?

Wigger.

I gotta say, i am a fan of aussie hip-hop.

Butterfingers, The Herd, Matty B, Hilltop Hoods, Bias B, Downsyde... and especially 2-up are great :) so much better than most of the commicial stuff that is played these days.

What have culture and aus hip hop have to do with each other?

Geez dude, you obviously have a too narrow mind to appreciate the fact that just because you don't like it, doesn't mean theres value there for others.

Theres nothing that **********es me more than people who mock peoples taste in music...Heres a news flash for you Porthos...your the one who doesnt get it mate.

BTW in australia, Hip Hop is a culture in itself, and a very healthy scene.
