So why not call the physio out again?

Don't have a problem with him pulling out, but I completely understand the shock and frustration of the crowd when he pulls out without seemingly trying anything to work through the issues within the match.
May have felt the muscle tear further? Does seem odd timing though, if that'd happened you'd assume he'd retire on the spot.

It's a shame, for a 10 time winner here, you'd normally expect there to be a great love affair with the player.

And not to mention, the actual party court. Court 6. Fabulous idea. Even had to move a match that was near it because it was too loud.

Should make all the courts ticketed and more expensive it would stop ferals a bit who come there to booze it up and not be fans. If you can’t respect the game don’t come and for goodness sakes can security etc do their job and remove people that are misbehaving treat it like a pub

Novak's injury may have been legit but he seems like the sort of guy that doesn't like to lose without some sort of injury excuse.

Tony Jones enjoyed the booing

Tony was probably the one leading the booing.

The ground pass is the best thing about the Australian Open. Fine with security removing people that are misbehaving but I don't think booing a player rises to that level. I was at the Hady Habib v Humbert match on Court 3 and seeing the Lebanese people all get together and get behind someone like that is something I will never forget. Crowd was probably a bit OTT but there was no noise during the rallies and that's the main thing in the end - if there is that's when the umpire/security should get involved.

The solution shouldn't be to make it harder for the average person to get to the tennis.

No issue with it IF they actually remove patrons that don’t adhere to tennis standards. This means no booing double faults this means no disruption during serves at all, and being quiet at ALL times during live play. This is where the security comes into play and kick people out no warning them 5 times, 1 warning then see ya and out of the premises.

Then put it solely on security - I don't understand how increasing prices helps anyone.

Should be more security and put them in the stands near the obvious sectors

The Ground passes are great value for the first week when all the players are there. Seeing the top ranked players practicing, watching games on the outside courts & the atmosphere.

I agree, think they probably need to be stricter with behaviour. I fully expected an umpire to warn the crowd they would be removed if they didn't behave in some matches.

His body is starting to fail him. Fed, Nadal and Murray all happened to tnem

It’s not surprising the booing happened, probably influencers who gave never watched tennis, that pissed off their face. That what the aus open has become
Let's hope those same ones aren't returning for the next match. They'll be extra intoxicated after sitting in the sun drinking & annoyed about the previous match ending.

Fed, Nadal and now Nole were all 36 when they won their last slams. The former 2 battled on for a couple of years after but it was clear the end had come. I'm not ruling out Nole yet but would take a monumental effort to snag another.
