Pete posted a little while back the current advice from government about vaccinations and their advice is to be getting boosted..period. If you are not getting boosted you are not following their advice regardless of whether you have done your own research about the deadliness of the current strains.

Whats changed? (I mean with your stance on taking government recommendations)
It's been pointed out by numerous posters that the current covid strains are nowhere near as deadly as the initial strains.

This seems to be a very simple concept lost on many on this board who either deceptively or stupidly think there has been no change.

Because State Govt's have lost the trust of the people .....fool them once, fool them twice .....but not now

And Kane McGoodwin ....I don't want acceptable losses with Vaccines, risk analysis ....and nor would you, if they were your parents

And yet, for all the verbal diarrhoea by politicians .....they still managed to fail the most vulnerable in the community .....and continue to do so to this day

They can sell them all year round for all i care!..

saw this today…

Honestly I found this post verbal diarrhoea!

My parents have chosen to get boosted given their age.... which is a choice of all elderly & those at risk.

Only if he's old or didn't get the first one. The second booster is currently only being recommended to people 75 or over.

See… thats where its probably best you dont get your advice from a random dude on bigfooty called “Slippery Pete”..

like I said.. ultimately, if one day a new strain comes out that is as bad as those original strains of the virus I’ll discuss it with my GP and go with what he recommends..
No, the government is telling people to get boosted, they are not saying do your own research. Therefore why if the government is telling you to get boosted should you be doubting their advice now as they deem the covid risk to be bad enough that you need to be effectively boosted

But thats not what the government are saying. They are saying get boosted as they deem it serious enough to require it. They are not saying do your own research

What is Trump telling them to do...

How about you do some research on how deadly the current strains are compared to the initial ones, like many have done... then get back to me.

I agree, but the very same people calling anyone who disagreed with the government advice for getting covid vaccinated a cooker are now themselves NOT taking the very same government advice ( regardless of whatever they feel about covid now, as the goveenment advice isthe same - get boosted). See the hypocrisy?

Why, the government are telling people to get boosted. Only cookers do their own research we are told
Because the Government clearly want those at risk to be safe than sorry.

There are still a significant number of patients with covid in hospitals & many still dying.

Who cares, we live in Australia. Are you following the government advice to get boosted OR are you now an antivaxxer😉
I'm not in the high risk category... ;)

If I were, I would get a booster as no brainer.

This sounds a pretty reasonable request.

Ukraine wants Australia's decommissioned Taipan fleet, but helicopters appear destined for scrap yard

Protesters from the Ukrainian community are stepping up pressure on the Albanese government over its decision to dismantle and bury Australia's retired fleet of Taipan helicopters instead of sending them to the war-torn nation.

In September last year, the Australian Army's MRH-90 helicopters were retired 14-months earlier than scheduled, after a crash in Queensland killed four defense personnel during a training exercise two months earlier.
They were initially meant to be withdrawn in 2037, but the troubled European-designed aircraft has had a history of problems, leading to fleet-wide groundings over the years.

Ukraine made an official request for the MRH-90's on December 19, 2023, despite the aircraft's well-documented safety and operational concerns.
"Our assessment of risk is different. We're at war," Anton Bogdanovych, who helped organise a rally of Ukrainian supporters in Sydney on Sunday.

Mr Bogdanovych said "the Australian government for some reason wants us all, the taxpayers, to pay close to $2 billion to dismantle them, to bury it in Australian soil, to pollute the environment instead of helping a friend in need."

Its just bewildering isnt it..

Well yeah, it is pretty bewildering that you won’t answer my question.

My question again is:

Would you have mandated the vaccine to go places, work, get a haircut etc, enter “non essential“ retail outlets for people over 12 years old (as it was in various parts of the country) if you had access to the surveillance data I just showed you, and also if you knew in advance that one of the vaccines millions of Australians were about to take would wind up being discontinued owing to its ability to cause deadly blood clots?

Just a simple answer is fine, then I’ll be out of your hair.

This more updated advice from Jan 2024 says 65 and over should get a booster.

The reality is that hardly anyone, whether they’re 65+ or 75+, is getting boosters. MrKK posted the data the other week, and the overwhelming majority of this cohort have stopped getting jabbed.

Now you can (and will) all delude yourselves and deliberately sidestep the point by claiming it’s because “the new strains aren’t as bad!” but that doesn’t explain why this cohort is ignoring the medical advice, which exists regardless of the “weaker” strains.

The reason they’ve stopped following the advice — and the reality which is obvious to anyone living in the real world — is that those who espouse the “medical advice” have next-to-no credibility left.

Australians have lost a huge amount of trust, not only in the medical establishment, but the “expert” class in general. This is actually going to become a huge problem on a whole range of fronts.

And the truly amazing thing is nobody could’ve seen it coming!

No

Updated recommendations are expected in 2024,

It's the same as last time with the same commentary.

It's just you can't read.

Want to quote the rest of that sentence?

“…..but if you become eligible for a dose in the next few months, you can still get it before any new recommendations come into place.”
I don't need to, we've already discussed this page to the nth degree, it's not new information .

It's just you continuing to flog a dead horse.

Cap attempting to explain why this statement:

A booster dose is recommended for all adults:

  • aged 65 years and over

does not mean what it says it means, is very entertaining.

Some would even call it “vintage Cap.”

After embarrassing himself posting the same page from last year thinking it was new, chief cooker try's to deflect and get some likes from his cooker team 🤣

Next time, be brave Pete, tag me. Although we all know you aren't the bravest person on the forum.
