Autopsy Autopsy vs Collingwood aka the Great Pain Robbery

Will be some horrible review watching tomorrow (especially the last qtr) for the following senior players:
Fisher
Mcdonald
Tucker
Scott
Zero composure from them. Multiple panicked dump kicks to the opposition killed us.

+ Zurhaar.

That missed handball on break in the last few minutes.

🤦‍♂️

Something that really saddens me is you could see how much LDU and Zurhaar wanted it. But will they want to stick around after games like that? Where they give everything an its ripped away at the final minute because we aren't one of the big teams and thus aren't supposed to get late free kicks. Why wouldn't they go to a team that does get that kind of umpiring love?
We got a late free kick last week, didn’t we? If we keep playing like this, LDU and Zurhaar will be staying.

We didn’t lose that because of missed umpiring calls. There are always missed calls both ways.
We lost because our midfield is currently unable to maintain the rage for a whole game, and because we dropped the Daicos tag.
It was a good display. We knew when we were 50+ points up that there was going to be a comeback.
The boys will learn from it, and be better for it.
We have a similar opportunity against a depleted Melbourne next week.
I mean yes & no.

The tone of the game in the first half was vastly different to the 2nd. Not that it has to be 1:1 but when the free kick differential was more or less even we were up by nearly 10 goals. Then Daicos gets 5 free kicks in less than a half of footy and the whole collingwood team has 3x as many and surprise surprise we are a 10 goal worse team.

Is the team to blame? Yes partially, but were we really playing so vastly different in the 2nd half that warrants such a start contrast in umpiring?

I’m usually pretty critical of our performances but we played bloody well today and probably deserved to win by a few goals (not 10 however)

Heartbreaking. Knew the comeback was coming but it didn't make it any easier to lose a game, one we clearly should have won, by a solitary point. It's the hope that kills ya
Remember, North Big Footy, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.

Unfortunately I was out all day, checked the scores, slowly saw it whittled away. Am I the only one who hates rewatching a loss even by it’s a point, but will watch every second of a 1 point win?
Eh. Will watch the highlights.

Looks like we kicked really well, then the inevitable rabbits in headlights combined with maggot-reaming caused a record (and heart) breaking loss, true North style.

Nevertheless I am really, really proud of the boys and this ship is turning. There’s enough there to work with and I hope they see that and don’t drop their heads for the rest of the year.

Looking forward to coming across to Melbz in a couple weeks to see a game and get down to Arden street. I feel reinvigorated as a fan.

👍🏼

Last week, we get the call against Yeo. This week, we’re denied a 50 metre penalty. Swings and roundabouts anyone. Unfortunately, Fisher blew it. He completely choked with that kick in.

Or did Scott not push hard enough to mark it? At the ground, looked like LDU went nuts at him.

Didn’t see any of the game, out all day with the family but did watch a replay of the 50 incident.

100 percent should’ve been a 50 but Bailey Scott quickly playing on while the umpire looked like he was deciding what to do was not smart.

Shouldn’t matter as the umpire should call him back and award the 50 but I think he gave the umpire an out before he had to make a decision. A more game aware player doesn’t do that.

pick 1 walking into this team
Next year we see the big jump

Not subbing out pink or shiels was the dumbest decision
IMO the mistake was to play Stephenson as sub, he should have been played in the first half then bring Ford on as the sub. I really don’t think Stevo is contributing enough and the miss on goal or failure to set up another player who had a better chance was a pivotal point in the game.

Overall though we have to be happy with the development and the endeavour of the team much to look forward to 😎

Let me assure you…if you were there as I was, surrounded by Collingwood fans and now travelling home with them on the train, you wouldn’t feel so fantastic
