if i was a footscray fan id be furious at this guy

looked like he could be anything in 2021, since then has taken the absolute piss. more focused on taking thirst instagram clips than his football.

i dont pay too much attention, but it looks like he hasnt even been around the club this year during his rehab. youd expect him to at least be wanting to support his mates?

seems like an absolute w***er from the outside looking in and id play hardball on him for the way hes treated the club

Yes he is a w***er, yes he is bad for any club off field, yes he hasn’t played good footy in years, but worse players have been picked at 7, and we’re at least getting a first and second for him (or more likely SDK). Could be worse.

Correct. It's all about him, and his footy hasn't done the talking for years.

Hard to know exactly what has happened, but after a few little things I genuinely think he thinks he is bigger than the team, and maybe he is some marketing wet dream but yeah, this isn’t a very good honest footballer like Josh Dunkley wanting a more prominent role in a midfield type of deal, this is a bloke moving to enhance the image he can’t get at a small club like the Dogs.

Essendon great Matthew Lloyd has described Geelong’s reported trade offer for Collingwood’s Ollie Henry as “insulting”, as “a few clubs” are reportedly frustrated with their negotiating tactics.
“That’s the right word to describe it, that is insulting,” Lloyd said on AFL Trade Radio..
“Geelong has offered Collingwood pick 38 for Oliver Henry. That’s way unders. Way, way, way unders."

"Geelong list manager Andrew Mackie enjoyed a successful trade period, even if some of his rivals weren’t happy with him."
"Meanwhile, Cameron’s Geelong counterpart Andrew Mackie was technically overseeing his second trade period in the role after Stephen Wells took time away mid-last year but caused a stir with his hard-line approach. A fair bit of that angst was related to the Cats’ offer of pick 38 for Ollie Henry, the No.17 selection two years ago."
Ollie was traded in a 3 way, Geelong gave up pick 25 and our first round pick from 2 years prior, Cooper Stephens. Ollie wasn't even getting a game at Collingwood so whats your point in quoting half cocked articles written half way through a trade period?
Correct. It's all about him, and his footy hasn't done the talking for years.
Which is why these kids in here "demanding" two top 10 picks for him are dreaming.

Since when was a player playing 15 games in their second season "not getting a game"?

Was dropped 3 times, sub twice, played VFL from round 17 onwards. Need any further clarification?

Interesting that according to Dogs supporters ITT, Sam DK "can't get a game" with 19 games and dropped 0 times :$

Henry booted 20 odd goals and was dropped because he was worn out as some second year players are by September. He was perceived as lacking versatility but a very good medium forward prospect, which he's fulfilling.

The deal offered by Geelong was a joke until Hawthorn took a hit to sweeten the deal for us. The feeling was Mitchell S didn't like Mitchell T, and the Hawks wore the loss to move him on.

The mail was Mackie was behaving like an arse in negotiations. He's been moved on from that role now, so there may be some truth to it.

What the **** does SDK have anything to do with this 😂

You’re insufferable.

Ollie didn't play the last few games that year because Wright was onto his managers ploy to get him to Geelong. He wouldn't sign the extensions put in front of him from early in the year and it was pretty clear he was going to use the homesickness ploy to get back to the club he wanted to be drafted by.

Or just overlooked for Ash Johnson 🤣

I'm insufferable and you're the one butting into conversations without understanding the context lmao. The common thread in here has been an SDK for B. Smith trade, with SDK's value downplayed by Dogs supporters "for not getting games"

Keep up champ

Seems to be a lot of ‘downplaying value for the sake of my club’ in here

Exactly, why here in this thread?
Keeps getting derailed talking about other players.

Everyone needs to do Bailey a favour and focus on Bailey…it’s what he’d want.
Did you know he likes to box with his shirt off in his new backyard? 🤣

Can’t wait for trade week so we can **** him off 😂

Why would Butters go to Geelong when he is a massive dogs supporter, if he wanted to come home?

Jeremy Cameron was a Pies supporter and had a choice between Cats and Pies when he was leaving GWS and coming back to Victoria.

Bailey Smith was a Hawks nuffie and yet he's still leaning likely to their biggest rival.

Yeah sometimes the pull is there, Perryman just toured Pies facility and was a huge Pies fan growing up so it makes sense, O'Halloran has been linked to Doggies through his grandfather playing for the club.

However, sometimes the appeal comes more from who is offering what, the lifestyle provided, the teammates you play with, the structure and vision.

Jeremy cameron wants to be a farmer and shoot shit on his property. Can't do that on hoddle street.

Geelong wouldn't be front of mind here, hard as that would be for level headed Cats supporters to believe.

More returning serve to Baz, actually.

...and protecting ourselves against future "unders".
Sam Power is not an egomaniac at all. He’s level headed, impartial and he doesn’t hold grudges… that’s why he’s great at his job. There is no way he walks Bailey to the the draft but he will extract max value from him.

That was my point?...Just because you support a team when you're younger doesn't necessarily mean it'll be the fit for you as you get older.

Jez wanted to live on a farm and Cats provided the best fit for him.

Butters may have loved the Doggies but that doesn't guarantee he'll end up back there. That's not to say that he wouldn't consider it though...

It may be like Perryman where he was a Pies diehard and what originally looked like with Port in the boxseat has now shown that Perryman's heavily leaning to the Pies.

Bailey Smith was a little Hawks nuffie, but if he's leaning to Geelong it shows that at the end of the day its a business and guys will do what works best for them as a brand.

Being a Dogs supporter growing up isn’t the only reason he’s coming to the Dogs. Still every chance he stays though.
