Went up to Ballarat and saw my old team beat St Patricks College for the fifth time in six games and win the BAS Premiership for the second time in two years.
I was quite surprised with the victory given that St Pats has two All Australians playing - Shaun Grigg and Natahn Brown as well as a whole host of Rebel players.
The College side was simply too good once again. With 5-6 players back from injury the College boys once again outclassed their much fancier opponents.
The College boys were fierce with their attack on the ball and were too mentally strong. They seems to get numbers around the fall of the ball and on most occasions outnumbered their opposition.
Well done boys. You have continued the tradiition of the 2001 side (my old team) and the 2005 side that won last year. It was great to be back in Ballarat and see some of my old teachers and to support the boys.
This side has now won both the Herald Sun Cup and the BAS premierships.
Its a pity they are not playing in the Herald Shield - they would have given it a mighty shake this year.
