Same pitch as the other night. Our 1st x4 bowling overs have been super impressive this season. Often ends up being the difference. Batting is a worry. Jewellery shouldn't play again. Wakim ran out our inform opener then got out sweeping (like last game I think). Doran who?
McDermott and Jordan back we can win, relying on those 3 batters above won't get it done.

Tim David is finally living up to the player he was talked about. He is getting that consistency rather than 1-2 good performances in previous seasons. With him that, you feel a sense of calm no matter the game scenario.

Opposition teams know , you have to get David out, if you want to beat Hobart. Its just a matter of batters around him batting well enough to win.

Renegades have been so poor at death bowling

In past seasons, Richardson has been our death bowler and was really good in that role - he was a crafty bowler at times

But he's def been found out over the last season or 2, and not sure on his contract status but I wouldn't be looking to re-sign him if he's out of contract - time to back in younger pace options

This year we've tried Rogers at the death, with not much success - his good overs are really good but he can also be expensive

Jewell has really fallen away in the past couple of seasons, he's out of the shield side too.

The key is that he is going in at the right time

Riley Meredith can sure bowl quick. A shame he hasn't been able to put it together in the longer forms. Would love to see his speed unleashed on the Poms. Not that he is anywhere near selection or should be. I just love watching the Poms shit themselves facing 150 clicks.

Would have had no issue with Wade as MOM - Bethell was the top scorer, but Wade is why Hobart won

For me the first 4 overs for each team was the difference.

Renegades 2-20 after four overs.

Hurricanes 1-36 after four overs.

Our previous first 4 overs:

V Stars 2-17

V Perth 3-9

V Stars at MCG 2-21

V Strikers 1-20

V Thunder 0-33

V Perth 2-42 Siefert batted at 3.

V Hurricanes 1-51 Seifert batted at 3

V SIxers. 1-44 Siefert at 3

What was the justification or accountability in decision making for dropping Siefert down the order?

No idea and it was stupid

In Perth it was obvious we were going to make a change at the top with Harris coming into the squad, which I guess at the time was meant to be him & Brown opening. When Brown withdraw from the squad, Seifert moved to opener with JFM coming in at 3

Evans last game for us was against Perth, and for whatever reason we decided after he left that Seifert would take over his role - seriously made no sense. Seifert should have either stayed at 3, or the move to opener be a permanent one in place of JFM

I don't get what we were expecting with moving him to 5 - guessing we were hoping he would be able to take advantage of the surge, but I'd rather the stability he showed at the top of the order

I also don't understand the move of JFM to 3 - outside of the first match where he got off to a flyer against the Sixers, he hasn't had the same impact opening the batting. Knowing that we've been having our issues at the top of the order, how does moving him to 3 seemingly solve the issues he was having as opener?

He's the player who should have moved down the order to replace Evans, and even then I would have had Sutherland coming in ahead of him. I'm not sure if it's the new ball that's been giving him troubles or a combination with other things, but I would have thought there was potential benefit to giving him a run down the order, even just to see if he could have found some form. I know he hasn't been in form, but we have to take some ownership of that as well as I don't think we've always done the right thing by him this season and he's almost just been thrown to the wolves with his struggles clear for all to see
