With the common view that Neale Daniher is on his last life as the MFC coach, I can see a big issue further into this season.

If we continue on this ordinary path - there will come a time where a coach should write off the season & 'play the kids'.

If Daniher was to do this - he would basically putting the sword to his own job. So, he is in a tough position where he must go for wins even if it isn't for the long term benefit of the club, to save his own skin.

Here is the question. Who is the best man to lead us? If we were able to choose who we liked regardless of availability, contracts etc who is the best man to guide us to the next flag? My choice would be Mark Williams with Michael Voss (midfield), John Longmire (fwds) and Damien Hardwick (def) as assistants. All capable of being together for 4-5 years and shaking the life out of our club. All have either played in or coached in premierships or both. All have respect and a solid grasp of the modern game and importantly they know what works.

If Neale went I would like to see Voss as the head coach.

Who said you need years as an assistant? Voss knows the game, would have the ultimate respect of the players and may change Melbourne into a hard unit.

Hopefully he would appoint Brock as Capt, just as he was appointed in Brissy at a young age. :thumbsu:

John Longmire would be a good option. He has been a part of Sydney's premiership success and was also a premiership player. Ross Lyon, another one of Roos' assistants, seems to have transformed the Saints into a workmanlike team (similar to Sydney) so I wouldn't mind some of that as well.
