I thought the 126 points gets added onto their next pick, which in this case would bring pick 39 forward to pick 33?

So essentially picks 15, 37 and 39 for Perryman and Pick 33
Not quite right.
If we were to nominate one of their academy kids at 9, they would need to find 1175 points in order to match it (1469 less 20%). Pick 15 gives them 1112 leaving only 63 needed. This 63 points is deducted from their next pick. Pick 37 was worth 483 but after taking away the 63 needed it equates to 420. The nearest selection on or under 420 is 41 meaning that they would lose pick 15 and their next picks would become 39 followed by 41.
I am quite confident both their academy kids will be called before our number 9 selection meaning it will cost them a considerably more. Would not surprise me if Carlton nominate both* of them with their first pick. *Call Setterfield at pick 5 - GWS match it and pay accordingly. Carlton then nominate Perryman at 6. Again GWS match it. This will force GWS to use all of their picks up to 58.

Gee whiz, not trying to troll because that side looks awesome. But 5/6 of those players would really need to improve on their GF performance to match the Dogs and GWS next year. Tippett, Jones, Rohan, Papley, NaiSmith, McVeigh, Hewitt. The dogs and GWs, were all those guys, I know you might have thought the umpiring was biased, but you have to agree the dogs had finals players that miles better than those guys.

Yes, their names were Jeffrey, Meredith and Stevic, now goodbye.

Tippett was coming off a LTI with no match fitness and shouldn't have been playing anyway.
Jones and Naismith were in our best on GF day.
McVeigh is finished and we all know that.
Papley and Hewett are inconsistent as it is their first season.
Rohan is flaky and hates finals.

McVeigh should be getting replaced soon, but the other 6 aren't going anywhere I wouldn't think.

Pleased to see someone showing Reid where he should be played - CHB.
Pretty much agree with your side however I would have Jones at half back and McVeigh on bench and I would swap the positions of Jack and Heeney. Agree that Newman will most likely force his way into the 22 next year.

I think James Rose can push for a best 22 spot in 2017 for Sydney as a half forward flanker. With McGlynn retiring and Heeney likely to spend most of his time in the midfield now for the Swans, I reckon Rose will have a breakout season next year and play around 15-20 games and kick over 20 goals.

Always enjoy reading your views on matters relating to the Swans, I think that might be a tad optimistic regarding Rose but if he can do that it would be fantastic, as he would slot straight into the spot Richards had been occupying.

Jones? You're having a laugh mate, off you go.

McVeigh will still get more than a dozen games next season, its just something we have to live with, unless his body fails him. One can only hope.

Not sure Marsh will come in for Laidler unless he dramatically improves his attacking ability over the off season. Not to mention Laidlers propensity to intercept mark. At least he has better skills.

Well the thread is mostly early 2017 rather than round 1, and I was thinking if he got a good preseason and played in the NAB Cup games it was a possibility he would be in the team round 1. He was already running a few months ago so his knee will probably be right by December or early 2017 (assuming there are no more complications).

AJ=No match practice in 4 years other than 10 mins in an NEAFL game. He will need half a season in the NEAFL at least to get used to match conditioning again.

X isn't with us, even though you didn't know that at time of posting I still would have had reid, injured or not, ahead of X as X is a lazy player.

I think this is a danger year for Maca. His form in seriously combatitive situations has been poor over the last two years. He either goes missing or goes to water in big matches. He might have played in a premiership and played well but since then has been poor in big games. People knock Parksie in big games but this bloke is far worse. The thing is other sides know Parksie is the heart and soul of our side and target him in the big ones. Can't say the same of Macca. If he can't cut it in the big ones he might just be on the outer.

My team is a bit more flexible because I believe we need to play every team on their merits. In other words pick for the side you are playing, either to outflank them or to match them.

B: Rampe Aliir Smith
Lloyd

HB: Newman Reg Macca
Laids Jones
Marsh

c: Hannaberry Parker Harry
Robinson Heeney Rohan
Leonardis Lloyd

HF: Kizza Reid Buddy
Dawson Buddy Mills
Towers

F: Papley Tippett Hewett
Rohan

Followers: Naismith, Kennedy, Foote
Mills Kizza

But a best 22? I am not sure. I will tell you more emphatically after preseason. You never know one of the draftees might be a walk up.
