After checking the markets for the AFL, I noticed there was some very good forwards paying extremely long odds in the Coleman category.

Obviously with Franklin such a heavy favourite it means there are some other exciting forwards that I think are genuine chances. Considering Jack Riewoldt went from rank outsider to outright favourite within an 8 week period in 2010 I feel like this is a worthy market for a roughie.

The Poll isn't about betting but more who is the best candidate to upset the favourites and win the coleman this year. To classify as a true roughy I have only selected those with odds over 100 to 1 with a given betting agency.

My personal choice is Hurley, obviously biased, and I don't think he is a lock by any means, just a reasonable roughy. I also think the Tomahawk, and...why not, Mitch Clark is worth a look.

Hey Guys,

Look I think Josh Kennedy is a small chance, Roughy not so much, and almost certainly not breust or Garlett. But they aren't in this category because they have shorter odds than 100 to one, Kennedy is actually the 4th favourite. It's more a question of who, out of all of the extemely rough chances is most likely to win it.

I think Roughead is the obvious choice.

The only way someone other than Franklin is going to win is if Buddy misses large chunks of games - and in that case the Hawks will need another tall to stand up in their forward-line.

Roughead comes with form (75 goals in 08), and if you're not picking Franklin, he's likely to have the forward half mostly to himself.

Roughead is the perfect...er...roughy.

Drew Petrie $34:00

- Had 90 scoring shots in 2011 in 21 matches, after missing virtually all of the previous season.
- Will play as a permanent full forward in 2012.
- Will play in a side with a fast improving midfield.

He is head and shoulders the best weighted "roughie".

Don't say you weren't warned.:thumbsu:

There really is only 3 Franko, Reiwoldt or Cloke that can win it
Why?

Players always bob up and surprise people.

Cloke did (in terms of goals kicked) last year; Riewoldt did the year before; Franklin did in 2008.

What's to say Tom Hawkins won't start tearing games apart next year and capitalise on being the focus of a great side; or that Josh Kennedy won't go even further than his 2011 and cement himself as a gun of the competition?

Voted Sam Reid FWIW. Don't think it'll happen, but he reminds me a lot of a young Buddy, with 10x better the contested mark.

Just needs to get on top of that goal kicking as Buddy (kinda) did.

Taylor Walker may have been a better option than a couple there.

The obvious choice is Essendon's Cory Dell'olio. Rookie, coleman winner. No doubt, bookmark it and get your house on it.

Franklin kicked nearly 70 in 2007 with some bags and showed plenty of promise, Reiwoldt was similair.

Love Sam Reids contested marks but he can't kick to save himself and he's not even close to having the same athletic ability especially when the ball hits the deck.
