yeah went to revs almost weekly during its halcyon days (2011-13). not a huge fan of it nowadays, its dying. mdma is a bit of a child's drug tbh. after going to berghain, and seeing stuff like people openly fisting each other and pissing in each others mouths, everything seems kind of boring.

any bush doofs coming up? been getting into the psytrance scene heaps of late.

Wait what........

wonder the kinds of profits the owners of the actual successful clubs end up making?

like revs n shit
The guy who owns Revolver also owns Cookie, the Toff, think there's another couple of venues in there too. He has a good spread of vibes and all are really successful and generally well reviewed. I can't remember the other restaurant.

Most people who own notorious or known nightclubs can generally afford to own them, and generally have enough whatever to keep them going.

Psy trance is a stain on the scene

Yeah.

I actually don't mind going out when it's wet. As long as it's not cold it's okay. There aren't really lines for most places, and the venues aren't packed with people once you get inside.
Going out in winter in Melbourne formed some of my favourite memories. Walking out sweaty at 4am and the cold wind hitting your face, the wet tram tracks. Romantic.

Did anyone go out tonight?

I feel like this weather would empty the venues out a little
I did - fantastic nights out when it's wet. People tend to venue-hop a lot less and it invariably seems a little 'friendlier' out in every way.

I just moved near hawthorn and I was wondering if there was any good night spots over the week days. Switch used to be good for Tuesdays (I was young and it may not have even been good!) but Jesus thats going a ways back now. Any info would be massively appreciated!

So now I think Ding Dong is officially past tense. Seems like the shutting down happened pretty quickly but in a way seems the name and venue went on a little too long... no one has cared about indie nights since I was a student at really and the real estate is probably going towards expensive Chinese restaurants and not bars.

Did anyone go to their last night or even go in the last year or so? Saw they had free drinks for an hour and a half which is surely illegal but chucking people out is a good way to get through a long line...

Sad though because I had some formative times there. Me and my two mates would go there generally every week for either their Tuesday or Thursday club nights which had a few different names. My mate lived close by in the CBD and we'd have to quickly leave before his housemate started coming along... would drink Aldi beers then wander through the city where it was dead and always have to navigate the bouncers there saying 'you boys can get in this week, but you're going to need girls next time.' I met all sorts there, even my girlfriend, once saw the band The Cribs there as well. Was a nice little venue and now it's consigned to my youth.
