Inspired by a thread on the Lions board, I thought it would be good to have a bit of honest input from all supporters as to what in recent history (say, last 20 years or so) has been your clubs best and worst trades.

On the Lions board, Pancho Gonzales suggested that the Lions worst trade was -

To Geelong:

Tristan Lynch, Scott Bamford, Pick 17 (Peter Street) and Pick 24 (David Wojcinski). Pick 24 came to us from Richmond in exchange for Rory Hilton.

From Geelong:

Martin McKinnon.

Mckinnon only played 7 games for us!!

Yep, that's a pretty good effort at getting reamed, guys.

He suggested our best trade might've been -

To Sydney:

Brent Green, Simon Hawking.

From Sydney:

Pick 31 (Simon Black).

In hindsight, obviously a bloody good trade, getting the champion Simon Black for those two nobodies.

We PWND you Sydney!! PWND!!!!!

Other clubs, best and worst?

Best

For Sale: One headcase full forward, used and possibly mad. Comes with own dildo. Will take three magic beans and a new spade for the clubhouse.

Crazy Vossy: I'll take him but I insist you take this promising young KPP and high draft pick. In order to balance it out I'll need a lower draft pick thrown in otherwise they'll think I'm CRAAAAAAAZY.

Worst

In: Michael Mansfield
Out: Whatever draft pick Geelong used to get Paul Chapman.

  • Darren Kappler (on-traded to Sydney), Simon Minton-Connell and draft choice 68 (6th Round) to Sydney for Greg Williams and draft choices 78 (Matthew Dickson) and 109 (not used).
  • Todd Ridley and Tony Delaney for Scott Lucas and Matthew Lloyd.
  • Brad Ottens for picks 12 (Meyer) and 16 (Pattison)...Almost everyone said Richmond won that draft after they picked Deledio, Tambling, Meyer, Pattison, Polo, McGuane and Limbach.
  • Mansfield for pick 31 (Paul Chapman).
  • Craig Devonport for pick 18 (Barry Hall)

Best:

Melbourne
In: Jizzspurts
Out: Burnout McLean

Carlton
Out: Jizzspurts
In: Burnout McLean

I see what you did there CB, as I have said before, we would not have wasted a pick on the said ball butcher Jizzspurts, we would have had Lucas one pick earlier. Gizmspert would have gone in the second or third round as anticipated/as he is worth.

This quite here was probably one of the best posts ever on BF

Carlton win worst trade ever hands down

Worst trade ever?

That's easy. Pick 16 and 46 for Stephen O'Reilly who played 12 games for you. AND you had to pay him illegally outside the cap. AND he blew the whistle on you. AND you had to pay a fine. AND you got kicked out of the draft and had to recruit hacks. AND it meant that your mulit-million investment in Denis Pagan was a waste because he had no players.

Stephen O'Reilly for - Pick 16, pick 46, $1m fine, pick 1, 2, 17 and 33 in the 2003 draft, pick 1 in the 2003 PSD, 1st and 2nd round picks in the 2004 draft.

I reckon that would have the McMahon trade covered by a couple of laps of Flemington, then a trip down the highway for a run round Caulfield, before a backtrack to run the length of the Moone Valley straight.

You see the thing about Stephen O'Rielly is the fact that he could have been a very good footballer if he wasnt such a ****ing **** sucking coward piece of dog fingering, ass licking, horse faced, back stabbing, wanking loser ****.

O'Reilly can't be topped, although I do smile whenever someone mentions:

Out: Jordan McMahon
In: Pick 19 (Callan Ward)

:)
