Big Day Out 2010 - who do you want to see?

Now that the Soundwave and Falls Festival line-ups have been announced we have a good idea of who's coming down under over summer... the next big announcement must surely be the Big Day Out.

Who's on your wish list?

Top of the list for me would be Tom Waits (only because he's top of the list of any musician I'd like to see - but I can't see it happening)

Others I think may be a possibility that I'd love to see are:

Iggy and The Stooges (Raw Power Stooges with James Williamson on guitar)
Turbonegro
Gogol Bordello
Muse have got to be a definite chance (possible headline act) and I certainly wouldn't complain to see them on the BDO line-up again

Considering they've all had (or will have) albums out this year, I'd like to see:

Bruce Springsteen (if Neil Young can headline, so can Springsteen)
White Lies (they can come back again, because I didn't go to Splendour in the Grass)
Florence and the Machine
Bat for Lashes
The Rakes
Franz Ferdinand
Peter Doherty
Bat for Lashes
John Frusciante
1990s
Killswitch Engage
Howling Bells
Brand New
Mastodon
The View (they can hang around after Falls :D)

Weren't they there last year? Still I'd love to see them but hope they do their own tour of the country as I'm not intending to head to the BDO this year. Like you were saying in another thread The Devil and God are Raging Inside me is one of the better albums of this decade

I would love to see Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers play a Big Day Out. They are not huge on touring outside of the US but they would be one act that I would love to see at Big Day Out. Having not played in this country since 86 their music and top notch playing appeals to all ages, with many thousands of younger music fans amongst their fanbase.

Paul McCartney would be massive, he has played Glastonbury a few years ago and for his age is an amazing performer and the songs, the songs that he can belt out for 3 hours, although I'd like to think he'd be allowed 2 at the BDO. A world tour is in the wings and I would think that doing the BDO circuit throughout Australia and NZ would finally blow away all the misconceptions and genrealisations that people in this county generally have about Paul. He ain't dead yet.

Bruce Springsteen would be fantastic to see.

Neil Young was a highlight this year and along with Iggy of past years prooves that the highlights of BDO are more than capably provided by some of the greatest musicians that ever lived.

Brand New were the best act I saw at the 2008 BDO (they weren't here this year), and that includes Rage Against the Machine, who were my favourite band when I was 12 years old :p

I was lucky enough to see Tom Petty live in the US at an outdoor concert. Would love to see him play the BDO, he would absolutely kill it but can't see it happening. If he toured Australia again it would be a miracle.

The same goes for Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen. Would be great to see them but very unlikely.

If I had to choose my ideal BDO line up for 2010 it would be all my old '90's faves Tool, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Cake. Never gonna happen but I can still dream.:thumbsu:

I wouldn't mind seeing Pearl Jam at BDO, evenflow I am seeing them in November.:D

I wouldnt go if the eminem rumours were true, the crowd would be terrible.

Hope i get a suprise next year, this year dropkick murphys getting announced was a shock, but seeing one of my favourite bands at the end of the festival really made my day (and they were by far the best act on the day/night).
