Tangana, Dier, Sessengnon all released
Right decisions in the now. But a story of different levels of failure by the club

Tanganga - the chopping and changing of management made it too late for us to realise he wasn't a useful option. In reality should have been given loans earlier and sold a year or so back for a few mill

Dier - another one of the peak Poch crew who left for either free or peanuts. Only Kane and Walker went for good fees. Dier, Dembele, Toby, JV, Rose, Dele, Wanyama and Lloris combined sale value of less than one Vincent Janssen!

Sessengon - bit of a sad tale of how injury and picking the right club at the wrong time can have a mental toll on a footballer. Shell of the player that we signed, who realistically could have been the england LB or in the Euro squad this summer

Chris Davies has been appointed Birmingham manager. Wonder who Ange will bring in to be his new assistant. Could it be Kisnorbo after his failed stint at Troyes?

This one is gutting, seemed to have all the weapons to own a place in the side, there is probably still time. A good example for why young players need to carefully consider offers from big clubs.

And how the mental side of things plays such a big part, but so does luck too.

His trajectory before joining and early stages is very similar to Bale. Laughing stocks woth injury and not getting in the side. Massive opportunity came Bale's way with BAE at AFCON and the rest was history. Hope for Sess sake he isn't too scarred that he doesn't get that lucky break and fulfill his potential elsewhere

Anyone wanna upload the top 10 most expensive signings in Tottenham history

would be grim reading
As equally grim would be the "transfer offers we should have accepted" top 10 list.

He wouldn't even answer the phone
United - no
Liverpool - forwards sorted
Arsenal - can’t afford
Chelsea - basket case/can’t afford
Madrid - depth option
Barca - can’t afford
Athletico - fair enough

  • could be the main guy here
  • ange, young squad on the up
  • Argentinian rat pack
  • will be a legend if he delivers any silverware

Agree that it’s unlikely, but got to put our hat in the ring.

Why not 25? Top 10 is more recent signings which is pretty common across the board with the rising costs.

PSG?

Arsenal would make sense but why would city even consider selling to them. Same with United.

As long as it is Eze plus a winger I'll be very happy. I think he's able to play with Maddison and a 6 in an attacking 8 role when sides sit back against us

typical Tottenham, spend money in an area that, although is a need, is not the most pressing

When Maddison was flying early in the year the team sucked as soon as he was subbed.

Then after he came back from injury, Maddison sucked, and the whole midfield sucked.

Would have thought it would be right up there as a priority personally.

To be fair, is Eve more of a winger than he is a central playmaker? I was under the impression we were adding to players out wide

He's a bit both which is another reason to do it. And obviously HG. For a decent fee for a good player you sometimes just gotta get it done. I'm not even sure maddison would keep an in form Eze out of the side tbh.

I see it as a more expensive HG version of when we were linked to Trossard. Wasn't a pressing need, but everyone including blind Freddy (apart from he who shall not be named) knew he was a quality PL footballer. Now look at him at a side challenging for the title.

Same goes for when we were linked to Watkins in the past too. Oh but we have Kane and Son, we don't "need" him. Now Kane is gone, Son is over 30 and we have Brennan Johnson and Werner instead.

You should always be looking to add that low hanging fruit, proven top quality player. Unless it's in an area that you've got youth players who you are blocking the path on. I don't think Donley or Devine play that same way as Eze. Or Moore.

Whereas up top adding senior quality for the sake of it that isn't well above our current crop does present problems. Because Veliz, Scarlett, Parrott, Lankshear, Soonsup-Bell all need a pathway and they all apart from Soonsup-Bell only play ST
