"For the newbies hack was the flog of it's day. That was Biggie." - ShaunDuggan
For its own little corner of the internet the Sweet FA is a pretty fast moving place. League veteran Tarkyn_24 mentioned to me that it felt like just last season where we'd done the same dance, and I suppose there is some synchronicity to it: the subject himself began season 28 with a beautiful, round 5000 disposals to his name. But it has been nearly 18 months since that last time, and 50 more games have been accrued. So I asked: "What's changed? What's fresh?" and the round mound of sound thought for a second before responding:
"Nothin'".
And that's just it. Mobbs calls it an imposing person of ultra-cool parade that seems aloof, but always has time for everyone who engages with him. But the league moves on and maybe there's a little less relevence to the guy, but what does that matter when the guy with the biggest opinion of himself in the league says you're somehow the most intimidating and relaxed person, all at the same time. okeydoke7 is right, the league loves a smart arse. And a bit of biff. And people who are just here for a bit of fun. That’s why we love Biggie.
As he's eases into the 300 club, it's worth noting they've all been with the East Side Hawks making him the 6th person in the league to achieve that feat. It's fitting he'll likely move into 6th overall for all time disposals in the coming game. He's also had 6 all SFA selections, meaning on the eve of 300 he's clearly the devil. Long time team-mate larrikin would have you believe otherwise: "He has been a true great of the competition and particularly the Hawks, both on and off the field. Never shy of a scrap, always with a smart arse answer, Biggie has always been there for his team mates". In that he has. Former team-mate, the aforementioned Tarkyn_24, notes there’s not a player in the competition that would have genuinely ill will towards Biggie, such is his ability to stand his ground and launch offensives yet still be taken in the right spirit. Even long time opponent Dingster looks on his posts fondly: "It was a GIF I think in reference to his career. I remember thinking 'Dear God, it's beautiful'".
300 games is beautiful.
