Pisses me off this update. Last couple of updates we've had from the club mentioned nothing about Walsh, though we all knew he had a back issue at the end of the year. And we were left wondering why Fogarty wasn't playing in the VFL finals. And what about Philp and Cuningham, how are they tracking?

Philp and Cuners were out on the ground on Wednesday in the rehab group with Hewett and O'Brien.

All ran laps except Cuners (90% sure he didn't, others might be able to confirm). FIIK what's wrong with him, but you'd assume still leg/calf related.

The pre-Christmas period is abnormally short this year (4 weeks). Technically, Walsh is not even due back until Monday as a 5th year player. He doesn't need the aerobic conditioning, so why risk him aggravating something? If he is not there in January, that's when we start to worry.

The sort of bloke who needs to be saved from himself though.
Possibly - but sometimes players don't know and Club doesn't know whether they can play through a 'niggle/soreness' or whether they are making something worse by playing through...unless an injury is bad enough to stop serious functionality at acceptable; levels of function - it is difficult to diagnose - until/unless it gets worse...

Can't remember last time when we had our best 22 out there at the same time. Hope Walshy will be ok but that back injury kept him out of R23 and won't partake in drills till after xmas that's pretty concerning.
That’s only really 3-5 weeks late compared to when he was due back. He’s already running and doing work in the gym and pool. He’s an ultra professional he would be doing everything right imo. Im not worried about round 1. He’ll be there.

If there is a player I have faith in putting in every bit of work in recovery, it's Walsh.

I'll save the worry for the new year
Absolutely agree, Sam is the consummate professional, the youngster is an inspiration on how throughly he preparers for AFL footy.
He’ll be just fine , he’s in experts hands. Go Baggers

The sticky is the no discussion info you're after. Aphrodite does a great job at keeping it updated.

Thanks Brackets

For those asking, NO to a 'no discussion thread' :D

This is so 2022 anyway :p

Let’s not create a new thread for 2023
