Daisy was pushed out by Newman and the return of Docherty. Selwood is a midfielder.

So it makes heaps of sense.
Daisy was more suitable to our wing and half-forward roles than Selwood, who is a contested mid who hasn't played that role for years due to the Cats' setup. Daisy was pushed out by some combination of Fisher, Cuningham, Martin and Papley.

That being said, worth looking over Selwood, just as I hope we are still looking over Dale if he is still interested in playing.

Given all the 'presents' GC have been afforded, they're in a position to play bully and if the CFC don't cough up what they want, can simply let Martin slide.

I know that sounds ridiculous, but a mid-second rounder may mean little to them now and they may see this to be the right time to make a stand.

But if he slides, where is he most likely to slide?

If we land both Papley and Martin i reckon the Betts deal falls through and he is No.3 clearly on that list in order of priorities.

Not to mention the stupid Suns will play hard ball with Martin wanting a 1st rd pick for a guy they dropped on the way to 18 straight losses and gimme a spell ya muppets.

Surely the Suns don't need more picks though? Are they really going to put up a fight over whether he is worth future first round or second round, when they already have picks next year already?

Am I the only one who thinks Papley, Martin and Eddie can play in the same side.

Part of Papley’s appeal is that he can go through the middle and impact. Likes getting up the ground.

At this stage of his career Eddie will almost exclusively remain in the F50 under Charlie/Gov.

Martin can play anywhere between the arcs from hff to hbf.

I want, and would be disappointed if we didn’t get, all 3.

I agree but they seem to think they are the be all and end all now with the new handout Gill has given them.

Shit hole club run by muppets from the ground up and no sporting team in any code has succeeded on the GC and WTF were the AFL thinking apart from trying to line their pockets? What a disaster they have turned out to be and a blight on the comp.

Would hope if they did that just to be dicks (especially after they just let their two captains walk last year) that the AFL would say "you obviously don't need picks next year to then. Let's just take that extra 2nd rounder next year back thanks"

Papley, Martin, Betts is only just doable.

I’m really not sure how we manage to add Gaff to that mix too.
Easily doable

Betts will come for peanuts.

If the Dodo can do deals for Saad, Stringer and Smith in one year

Then SOS can easily do Papley and Martin

I heard last night in SEN that Papley is wanting to play in the midfield more next year, which is fine by me. There is great flexibility and versitility to both Papley and Martin.

I would love for Martin to play a link up role for us similar to Shane Edwards at Richmond.

I'll go you one better. I could deal with Papley, Martin, Betts AND Butler playing in our line up. Maybe not every week, all year, but yes, I want the lot of them.

Get the young mids out of the small forward roles, let them play mid or develop in the 2s.
