This is just crazy guessing game but Sydney might do that / they will have 3 firsts next year cap space and might want to replace buddy with a King .. they love a marquee forward
Would we bring in O'Meara or Mitchell and change ? Is trading three firsts in a row leaving a big hole .. really beef out midfield
I actually don't think O'Meara or Mitchell would help us out all that much would they? What we do need is another elite winger. Wingers generally come a bit cheaper as well but I don't know any on the market (Jordan Dawson anyone?)

So have we ******* sacked any current players and made some trades yet?
Hearing Walsh to Richmond
Charlie to Pies.
No one big though. Won't get much for them you wouldn't think.

Of the two I'd prefer Jaeger. He's a bit more inside/outside and has some run. He's also strong and can win a hard ball.

I think Jaeger is actually the type who'd be a very damaging 3rd/4th midfielder, but his strengths are somewhat nullified when he has to be no.1 or 2. He obviously can do it, but his most damaging attributes will come out if he has more freedom.

I'd take him though I wouldn't want to overpay for him by any stretch, it'd have to be a friendly trade.

Tom Mitchell doesn't interest me much at all.

Samo played mid for the first two and a half years of his career - telling that we can count the memorable games on one hand

And isn't it telling how bad our decision making and development was that we plucked a 20 year old mid with less than 50 games and switched him to half back?

Yeah, I'd take Jaeger if the deal was right. Can't have too many tough mids with elite disposal and decision making. We've got 4 of 5 starting spots locked now. He would certainly make our 5th have to step up. Can't see happening though. Before injuries he was incredible.

We’re trying to re-enter the first round. Future first is up for grabs for the right deal.

Depending on the pick we get back, we may not yet be done with trade week just yet (the better the pick, the more currency we have for another trade).

Wondered if something else was in play as with Young, Cerra and SPS done today we'll have plenty of time to explore other options.

I assume we've got an eye on someone in the draft vs using that Pick for a trade?

I like Jaeger just worry Williams will push for Mitchell hope my guessing is wrong

For Carlton, i would prefer Lewis Young on our list than Samo.

Samo has ability but it just isn't coming out at AFL level. He just can't/won't extend himself with kicking, tackling or running. Samo 2 years ago, even 1 year ago, still had potential and hope. But it just wasn't eventuating or even progressing. Samo of right now was very expendable for us. We have coverage of his type literally by the dozen. We need a Lewis Young on our list. 22yo, 204cm, coverage for KPD and Ruck who played in a winning final team and has at least as much hope of becoming a valuable AFL player as Samo does right here and now.

Gut feel is that clubs would conservatively have us at Pick 10-12 next year - might be earlier, but they'll deal on the worst case estimate to mitigate the risk of losing out. If they rate that being a stronger draft, then that may value our future first around Pick 7-10 this year. Means we'd be highly unlikely to get a second rounder back as well unless we're only getting a late first this year.

7. Richmond - might just miss the best of this draft and be open to deferring their pick a year, but 7 would be a big pick to gamble.
8. Freo - doubt it, think they'll want to keep bringing kids in now.
9. St Kilda - maybe?
10. West Coast - maybe?
11. Essendon - seem to want to keep drafting kids for their rebuild, doubt they entertain it.
12. Sydney - maybe?
13. GWS - seems right up their alley, already have Pick 2.
14. Brisbane - have to be a chance.
15. Richmond - more likely to see them flick this one than Pick 7.
16. Port - maybe?
17. Melbourne - would have to consider it, but would need to throw something else of value in.
18. Brisbane - second first rounder here makes them a good candidate.

Best options I see:
GWS - Future first for 13 and future third?
Brisbane - Future first for 14 and future third OR for 18 and future second?
Richmond - Future first for 15 and future third?
Melbourne - Future first for 17 and future second?
Would you do F1 + 25 for Brisbane's 14 and 18?
