Wow, you're a funny guy.

Got a problem with the president talking to supporters?

Having finished 12th, 15th and 13th over the past three years the Bombers are in on field chaos. Add to that the fact that they were unable to secure the coach they wanted, a group of supporters are at war with their club, their two legends have walked away from the club and now the below internal bickering and leak. All indications are that the Bombers are in turmoil both on and off the field. Pencil them in for 16th.

'Dons begin witch-hunt
26 September 2007 Sunday Herald Sun
Mark Robinson and Mark Stevens

ESSENDON has launched an internal crusade to expose the official who leaked news that Neale Daniher had been overlooked for the vacant senior coaching position.

If found, the official faces the sack.
Daniher, who was one of three remaining candidates for the job, heard of his omission yesterday morning while eating breakfast and listening to the radio.
The Bombers are furious their plan to inform Daniher later in the day yesterday was hijacked by a big-mouth club staffer on Monday.
Club directors and senior officials were contacted yesterday by chief executive Peter Jackson.
Jackson was embarrassed for Daniher, whom he rated highly, and for the club.
He personally telephoned Daniher to apologise.'

Whichever Essendon supporter replies to the above person has have to have a real look at himself...

what a valuable post. stereotyping and pigeon holing the entire essendon supporter base. well done.

we're not all like that you know.

I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule and it was a generalisation but it is more true than the exception. I'd love to get to know a Dons supporter who has an objective view on footy with respect for other teams and supporters.

"Get in my belly"!!!!!!

120,000 plus is not marginally. We keep whipping you for crowd attendances, get over it.

It's 5000 a game.
We played more games interstate and play out home games at a stadium that holds half the people.

Marginal.

Having finished 12th, 15th and 13th over the past three years the Bombers are in on field chaos.

3 wins to 10 wins is an improvement of 300%.

That's not on field chaos.

Add to that the fact that they were unable to secure the coach they wanted

Firstly, your list of Essendon's preferred coaches has already been challenged. You ignored the challenge.

You listed Daniher as our third choice, yet he is out of the running and others you didn't list at all are still in the running.

The Coach of the Year is holding off talks with the likely Premiers because he wants to talk to us.

Peter Sumich is considering an Assistants role at the club.

Doesn't sound like we've missed out on anything.

their two legends have walked away from the club

Wrong again.

Sheedy was told he was no longer required. He hasn't walked away, in fact he's still at the club and is honoring his contract until the end of the month.

Hird hasn't walked away either, he has simply retired from playing. Did you expect him to go for ever?

And he's still involved in the club.

now the below internal bickering and leak.

It's not internal bickering. Bickering involves two parties.
This is an example of one person getting too big for their boots and the club not accepting anything less than 100% professionalism.

The leak isn't great, it's not good at all. The way the club has handelled it is exactly what I expect.

Pencil them in for 16th.

Pencil? I thought it was a sure thing?

I have a reliable source at the club that the guy on the right is our new coach.;)

I actually know of Ray Horsborough and he is one smart cookie having been Managing Director and CEO of Smorgons since the early 90's. You don't hold that sort of position without business acumen. The guy on the right I don't know of but I'm sure he'll make a good coach.:)

As for Essendon in turmoil? not at this stage... we are just going through one of those periods of a couple of years near the bottom. Every club has to do it or you will always finish in the middle of the ladder and achieve nothing.

You pick up some good young draftees for a couple of years and then you are back in the hunt for a flag or two. And that's the way to go about it.

You raise some valid points, thanks for entering the thread in a sensible manner. Yes Horsborough is a smart cookie and yes Essendon will rise again. I simply believe they are at their lowest point for a long time and will have a few seasons of bottoming out before they rise again. This thread is not a deliberate attempt to put the Bombers down, it is my prediction based on numerous happenings at the club at the moment. Yes they are a powerful club but for the present they are down and need to cop it on the chin.

I like this thread, it's going something like this:

Essendon haters: You're a rabble, you're in turmoil!
Essendon fans: Nah, we're good
E H: You're shit, you're screwed!
E F: Nah, we're good
E H: You're going to die! You're shit! You're awful!
E F: Nah, we're good.

Yes and most of the time you can't fill that stadium, you don't even have the stadium record and it is your home ground. As a matter of fact you don't even have the biggest 3 crowds to play at the stadium, so don't use Telstra as an excuse. Fill that before you worry about the M.C.G

a) We get 50k most of the time
b) We'll never get the record because TD Management insists on making our games Fully Ticketed. If our games were walk up we'd sell it out easy.

Actually you have only got 50,000, 4 times in the history of Telstra and I believe only once this year.

So we aren't in turmoil? Nobody here is disagreeing that we are struggling onfield and it's possible that your prediction comes true cos someone has to finish last but there's a big difference between that and turmoil.

No currently you are in turmoil, you will work your way out of it but it will take time. All clubs at some stage have been in turmoil, Essendon are now.
