But Collingwood have it over the Bombers in every head to head facet of the game so why would I hate it. A better head to head record against the Dons, more crowds, more memberships, a higher score and greater winning margin over the dons than they have over us, 2-0 in the current year and of course 1990. I can't believe what I am hearing. I have made a prediction based on some relevant points. It is not an attempt to put the Bombers down. It is what I believe will happen in 2008. Some of you Bomber fans need to toughen up if you think this is a put down.

How are we in turmoil? We have $7m sitting in the bank so we're not broke, we had 36k+ memberships and we only finished 2 games out of the 8.

Granted we may be unsuccessful for a few years but I can't see how that makes the bombers in turmoil!

I was actually about to respond to this as I thought it had some valid points. Such a shame that you spoiled it with your last comment. I suggest that if you want to talk triple chins I would have a look at the profile of a certain boss in a photograph a few pages back. Such a shame you ruined your post with a stupid deflective comment. You just can't leave Collingwood out of your posts when we are talking about the Bombers.

Thats all true but they are going through a messy divorce at the moment.

If it got really Messy then lawyers will own most of the assets in no time at all.
And the kids will resent one or both parents

Probably because the guy who started this dumb thread is from Collingwood and says a heap of dumb things about another club. Just because Collingwood didn't lose another Grand Final this year makes it difficult for us to talk about turmoil at Collingwood.

Essendon has always been based in Essendon, and refuses to sell out like many other clubs. Hawthorn has moved to Waverly, Collingwood to East Melbourne, Footscray and North Melbourne have even removed the suburb from their name. Essendon is one of the few traditional clubs who isn't trying to hide their heritage.

And if you're having a go at Essendon for being in the western suburbs,

Richmond median house price: $477,500
Abbotsford median house price: $519,000

Clearly these Eastern suburbs are worse than Essendon.

Let me sum up this thread. I made a statement that I honestly believe. I stated the Bombers were in turmoil and will finish 16th. I gave a list of reasons that included the loss of Hird and Sheedy, past three years performances and internal bickering. Immediately you are called a troll because your opinion is different to that of Essendon supporters. Then most Bombers fans respond with jibes about Collingwood or Buckley.
You will note any user who has addressed my opening post, I have reponded to positively and politely.

Essendon are not in turmoil. The AFL is set up so that clubs will endure a cyclical set of results. Clubs will be at the bottom of the ladder (read Brisbane in the late 90s), then improve when the high draft picks improve (Brisbane 2001-3), and fall down again as the players move past their prime (Brisbane now).

This is not turmoil. If we were at the bottom of the ladder, like Carlton, for 5 or more years, then maybe we'd be in turmoil.

Not really. It more depends on whether you are refering to a place, a 3rd person plural verb or the 3rd person plural possessive; nothing to do with the nominative. You mean the object, or the accusative, not objective (unbiased).

Essendon have a great track record of innovation and being ahead of the competition. it just seems to me that they've regressed in recent years - whether that was just the Board failing to act on Sheedy's recruiting early enough, I don't know - but to me it just looks like they're trailing the competition at the moment. A good progressive Coach should fix that up and bring back the fear factor, but they're off their game.
