How is it a disaster? We've appointed the guy who was the best applicant. But of course you'd know more than the interviewers, the people that Knights actually made his presentations too. OBVIOUSLY you'd know better than them. My mistake.

The club interviewed numerous people and decided that he was the best person to coach the club. They'd know, because they are the nes making the decision.
What gives you the right to think you know ANYTHING about how impressive he obviously was in the interviews? The only people who know are the ones who make the decision.
The guy hasn't coached a senior AFL game yet. Give him a chance FFS. All Essendon have done is appoint who they consider to be the best person for the job.
I'd be more concerned about your club who have been talked up so much (based on 2 hours of football in a PF) yet, at closer inspection actually went backwards this year (14 wins and healhy percentage in 2006, 13 wins in 2007, with a percentage of about 100%), losing your best defender to retirement and maybe your captain.
But you've got kids, right? Join the club. Who hasn't?
I don't know what Lord Eddies is carrying on about, Knights has been our coach for less than a day and he's already writing him off.
I bet if we wrote off Collingwoods drafted players after one day on the list, he would be saying "give them a go".

It was disappointing but necessary. It allowed Sheedy to go after another job and also allowed the EFC to begin its process of finding a new coach.
Ray lied because he didn't want anyone to know of the clubs decision to replace Sheedy before telling Sheedy himself. He wanted Sheedy to know first. Again, necessary.
There was one leak...Shit happens. Can't help that.
For the same reason we appointed Sheedy nearly 30 years ago. For the same reason Hawthorn appointed Clarkson...

I have a reliable source at the club that the guy on the right is our new coach.
I actually know of Ray Horsborough and he is one smart cookie having been Managing Director and CEO of Smorgons since the early 90's. You don't hold that sort of position without business acumen. The guy on the right I don't know of but I'm sure he'll make a good coach.
As for Essendon in turmoil? not at this stage... we are just going through one of those periods of a couple of years near the bottom. Every club has to do it or you will always finish in the middle of the ladder and achieve nothing.
You pick up some good young draftees for a couple of years and then you are back in the hunt for a flag or two. And that's the way to go about it.
Glad someone at Essendon took it in the right spirit!
