Announcement at Half Time. It's the funniest football story I've ever heard. I only wish I was there to hear it myself
How is it a disaster? We've appointed the guy who was the best applicant. But of course you'd know more than the interviewers, the people that Knights actually made his presentations too. OBVIOUSLY you'd know better than them. My mistake.guess I can't blame you for wanting a laugh or two tonight. what a bloody disaster for you lot!
you already had him. if he was so good why wasn't he assistant coach? How is it a disaster? We've appointed the guy who was the best applicant. Because he was head coach at Bendigo instead. Is that too hard for you to understand? Is there some "rule" that he had to be an assistant coach?
little touchy there Dan! what are the stats on VFL coaches making it in the big league? you oughta have that at your finger-tips?
I hear he was a big success in the SANFL
But Collingwood have it over the Bombers in every head to head facet of the game so why would I hate it. A better head to head record against the Dons, more crowds, more memberships, a higher score and greater winning margin over the dons than they have over us, 2-0 in the current year and of course 1990. We own you.
Read carefully and take it in:
The club interviewed numerous people and decided that he was the best person to coach the club. They'd know, because they are the nes making the decision.
you make an assumption they have a clue what they are doing! the way the sheedy sacking was handled, the lies, the leaks suggest otherwise. blind faith in idiots can be dangerous
see aboveWhat gives you the right to think you know ANYTHING about how impressive he obviously was in the interviews? The only people who know are the ones who make the decision.
.The guy hasn't coached a senior AFL game yet
so why appoint him?
I'd be more concerned about your club who have been talked up so much (based on 2 hours of football in a PF) yet, at closer inspection actually went backwards this year [/QUOTE
now i see why you'd believe your board. you're stupid
doubt that'll help you sleep! you sacked sheedy, went in search of the best coach available and appointed your VFL coach.16 > 14
Wow, you're a funny guy.
Got a problem with the president talking to supporters?
It was disappointing but necessary. It allowed Sheedy to go after another job and also allowed the EFC to begin its process of finding a new coach.Read carefully and take it in:
you make an assumption they have a clue what they are doing! the way the sheedy sacking was handled
Ray lied because he didn't want anyone to know of the clubs decision to replace Sheedy before telling Sheedy himself. He wanted Sheedy to know first. Again, necessary.the lies
There was one leak...Shit happens. Can't help that.the leaks
For the same reason we appointed Sheedy nearly 30 years ago. For the same reason Hawthorn appointed Clarkson...so why appoint him?
I have two things to say to you:
1. James Brayshaw, and
2. Gold Coast
I have a reliable source at the club that the guy on the right is our new coach.
I actually know of Ray Horsborough and he is one smart cookie having been Managing Director and CEO of Smorgons since the early 90's. You don't hold that sort of position without business acumen. The guy on the right I don't know of but I'm sure he'll make a good coach.
As for Essendon in turmoil? not at this stage... we are just going through one of those periods of a couple of years near the bottom. Every club has to do it or you will always finish in the middle of the ladder and achieve nothing.
You pick up some good young draftees for a couple of years and then you are back in the hunt for a flag or two. And that's the way to go about it.
went in search of the best coach available and appointed your VFL coach.
When did you last play all your home games in Melbourne?I have one thing to say to you - the last time Essendon beat North, the Twin Towers were still standing and Saddam was still in power.
Essendon has always been based in Essendon, and refuses to sell out like many other clubs. Hawthorn has moved to Waverly, Collingwood to East Melbourne, Footscray and North Melbourne have even removed the suburb from their name. Essendon is one of the few traditional clubs who isn't trying to hide their heritage.
And I expect you to be wrong. But we'll have to wait and see.I expect them to finish in the bottom two after hearing who there coach is for 2008 and beyond.
And I expect you to be wrong. But we'll have to wait and see.
