Digging into the why
This came up during the post-match pubcrawl among a few demon supporters after the tragic effort that we were presented with yesterday afternoon. We nominated a few different possibilities for a BoJ sponsor because really, anything will do.
Among the potential candidates were:
Tom Scully - This young man just so happens to be in possession of the exact sum of money that we lost from the EW debacle. I'm sure the guy is also charitable enough to come to the aid of a club in need!
Collingwood Football Club - Eddie McGuire has shown in the past week that he has a bit of a softspot for the club and he certainly has the cash to play with. What could make our players more proud than wearing an ad for one of the most successful clubs in the league!
Any and every alcoholic beer company - Back in the days when the Great Allen Jakovich graced the fields with some of the most insane goal kicking the game has ever seen, our Jumpers had TOOHEYS in impact font on the back. It has never seemed more appropriate to have a beer company plastered on the back of our great jumper. The brand that picks us up with gain an instant degree of gratitude after every match as every Melbourne supporter will be at the pub trying to drink away the pain that the players deliver.
