Lynch only, while losing Deledio as far as top draft picks go.

Geelong dynasty was built with no real high picks.
Hawthorn used a few early for their dynasty but then for a long time used no high picks
Richmond potential dynasty with no real high picks.
Prestia also a top 6 pick.

edit: ahh has been addressed

So I mean your 'factoids' aren't really factoids are they.

I posted that "many of their best players came to club outside the draft system".

Jarman, Hart, McLeod, Smart, Rehn, Ricciuto … so, who wasn't among your best players of the day; or who was it that came to AFL via the draft? (hint: McLeod wasn't drafted, Jarman as a Bears pre-selection was traded to the Hawks for … lol pick 10).

Yeah. The answer is none. My statement was 100% correct.

As for Ricmond not having many top picks, they had 5 former top 10 picks play in their premiership this year, including a pick 2 and pick 3. They also had Ellis taken within the first 10 live picks, of his draft. Other first rounders included Lynch (pick 11), Riewoldt (pick 12) and a few others acquired from finishes outside the top 8. Took them around 10 years to build that list.

Thats true but at the time some of those guys werent rated highly by other teams.
As far as I understand, Ablett was not going to be a first round pick?

Hawkins and Ablett were both highly rated. Ablett's year was with Judd/Ball/Hodge though and he was nowhere near that trio at the time. Cats also had Ottens, Bartel and Selwood as key players who were former top 10 picks and Steven King was a pre-draft compo for losing O'Rielly. Even with some of the most astute drafting the AFL has seen, Geelong still needed access to cream.

Hawks had the big front end to build their team around too with Buddy, Roughhead, Hodge and Lewis as well. Thankfully they blew a couple of other top picks they had too, or the comp could have been in real trouble.

Why are so many Carlton fans sprouting their long running dumpster fire as the model of success before leaving the bottom 4?
Only way they have known since the Brown paper bag model was outlawed.

Most premiership sides have not had long spells as wooden spooners...

Action speak louder than words, you do realised that I don't replied to some of your post in the past even you ask for it (our opinion is not that important - past, current or future ) , you need to learn to restraint yourself not to take other opinion seriously, just as some of us don't really take yours seriously.

You were giving as much as you took, so if you can't handle the heat stay out of the kitchen.

If you can't take other people opinion (heat) you should stay out, it applied to past, current and future. Don't lives in the past remember.

Is not about like, if they are like Richmond won 2 flag in recent year I can understand, or allow to be arrogant, they won nothing yet, not even top 8. They are still bottom 3 last year, not top 9,10 11, 12.
What happen if Adelaide, Port, Sydney Melbourne, Fremantle, St kilda, North still end up better in 2020 Ladder position than Carlton.

I get that mate but their arrogance was there when they were last every year.
Its just in built.

Nothing, we'll still be the same.

No real supporters can have a realistic assessment of their club and where its at.

The fake supporters are the ones that clap along and think everything is great no matter what.
The ones that go to their echo chamber where their POV can be reinforced (this board perfect example for Blues fans)

We will see.
I'm willing to bet we still finish above you.

Ablett was also drafted underage which you now can’t so it’s fair to assume he would have been extremely highly rated with an extra 12 months.
Hawkins would’ve been a potential number 1 pick.

I never said you wouldn't and how do you know what we think, just because we reply to people like you who love to pot Carlton doesn't mean we're oblivious to what's going on with our team. Isn't this a B. Crouch thread and not another pot Carlton supporters thread?

If fit would fit in well at the Tigers, they should have a crack.
I'd love him at the tigers in the guts to release Cotchin to play off half back for his last few years ala Boyd @ the dogs. But I think we'll have more pressing needs than another inside mid though. The spare cash from Rance will probably be used up keeping the core group together.

This sums it up for me.
Tigers dont need Crouch as much as a lot of other teams do.

Not really sure what Richmond do need? Riewoldt replacement?
