IIRC, he was a mature age recruit so is actually pretty old by AFL standards.
He's the one bloke in football that everyone respects as a footballer and person, it doesn't matter who you support, where you come from, or what your opinions on various issues are.

Fair to say he'd stay with the club of course.
I really hope he stays with the club in some capacity. He's exactly the sort of person you want around the next generation of players.

Not a huge shock, I thought he'd go this year or next, but it's still sad just because it's Kirky. A great man of our club, I hope he stays on in some capacity, hopefully as an assistant coach. Kirk=legend

Kirk would make a great assistant coach at the Swans and i could see him as a senior coach as well. He is a extremely good leader and i think that quality will help if he decides to start coaching.
The very rare type of footballer who could dominate a game of football through his one special attribute, and with Brett Kirk that is his endeavour. Magnificent tackler and underrated by hand also.
