I find it very very strange (actually staggering) that the open corrupt statement that Eddie Maguire made last year on Footy Classified that he knew there would be no more Heritage Rounds and hence the 2007 agreement signed in bad faith hasn't been challenged by our club or the media?? why ? Has our club confronted the AFL about how corrupt that is and as to why Eddie was informed about this and Port wasnt? and on top of that they were also a party to that agreement ? why has it gone so quiet? i just dont believe our club had the balls to call this out for what it blatantly is and take advantage of it? Or is it a case of 'don't bite the hand that feeds you'? if so - thats an abusive relationship.......

David Koch is one of those people that craves everyone to like him. There is no way he is going to do anything that may put him offside with anyone at AFL house.

He also only holds his PAFC board position at the discretion of the AFL. As Interstater posted above, he knows who butters his bread.

With McGuire out of the picture currently, now is the time to really push for this. If we don’t, it tells you it’s a low priority for the club.
How a request like this is still unresolved and the fact some clubs really don’t have contrasting uniforms, shows up the AFL for the organisation that it is.
Re McGuire, with his history, he shouldn’t be anywhere near a contender for an AFL board position.

If Sydney weren't such a basket case in 1992-93, Alan Schwab wouldn't have been sent to Sydney, wouldn't have screwed that hooker and had a heart and would have still been at the AFL when we won the licence to join the AFL and would have brokered some sort of deal to allow us to - "being called anything else but Port Adelaide and wearing that guernsey wherever possible."

But he dies in 1993 and Oakley, his lieutenants and the Commission between 1994-96 are made of business people, not from clubland who have no real interest in football integrity.

We compromised, we had to a add a colour, change or nickname, that was ok, but we went with Port Power not Port Adelaide and no concession on the jumper. I get it, we wanted in after the failure of 1990, but we gave away too much at the start.

That Hawthorn thing is a complete furphy - according to this they only wore a jumper like that in 1933, but with a much thinner V, going up over the shoulders. Their jumper was the reverse of that until 1950. Hawthorn entered the VFL in 1925 but didn't win a flag until 1961, by which time they'd been wearing the current poo-n-wee stripes for over a decade. Not much of a legend that 1933 knock-off.

It’s quite odd on the Hawks guernsey. The gold and brown works perfectly fine as a light/dark combo for the numbers, adding more colours into the mix just makes the whole thing look messy.

Like wearing brown shoes with a black belt, it just looks off.

I wouldn't let clubs wear anything be it shorts or number panels or whatever in non official club colours at all, if that means you are wearing yellow shorts stiff fukcing shit.

I approach it from the other direction. Wear whatever the f@&k you want, as long as it doesn’t clash with the home team’s standard kit.

Green number panels, hi-vis orange numbers, tartan shorts, whatever. Just don’t add the opposing teams colours into the contest.

Nah I've never liked the everyone can use white base away kit acceptance, we have a number of clubs including us with white as an official club colour the others need to get creative & it would lessen clashes imo.

Absolutely.

People here took the piss out the crows when they ditched white clash guernseys in favour of red/yellow but I thought it was a big improvement.

White isn't one of their colours.
