Nah I've never liked the everyone can use white base away kit acceptance, we have a number of clubs including us with white as an official club colour the others need to get creative & it would lessen clashes imo.

That’s not what I’m saying at all. You shouldn’t wear what the home team is wearing. If someone is playing us at AO that means no black or white in their clash kit imo, and no close substitutes like dark blue either to maintain contrast.

The Hawks could easily get away with a fully gold kit with brown trim, it would work perfectly fine. My point is that a red or pink or lime green kit would work just as well and this solution should be imposed on teams like Collingwood and Carlton who have a similar colour palette to ours.

Tl;dr - home team wears their colours, away team wears anything else.

This means we are playing in teal or silver everything in away games against certain teams.

Doesn't matter to me really if we get to wear what we want at home.

i would have our players wearing a magenta dolphin on an electric teal background 11 weeks a year if it meant home prison bars (in black and white, or even very very dark gray and very very vvery pale silver)

of course one must always imagine wearing such clash strips at the grand final (not likely for us though hey hey)

I’m happy to wear silver shorts as the away team if others reciprocate. It’s an absolute bush league farce that Collingwood doesn’t wear anything but black and white irrespective of their opponents.

Let's face it, we're regarded by the AFL, the media and opposition fans as a second rate club who barely deserves its place in the league and the whole PBs fiasco reflects that. And now, we've reverted to type and are playing like it too.

Why wouldn't they think it when we act it.
It's all our own fault.

Is it just me or does it feel like the Bars campaign has lost a bit of its mojo the last 2 weeks as the players disrespect the jumper?

I think it lost it a long time ago. The club clearly doesn't give a ****.

I wouldn't be surprised if the club actually starts talking up the PB campaign again among the members and supporters to distract from the Kenny Hinkley sh!tshow. That doesn't mean that they'll push the issue with the AFL though.

3 days out from the first Showdown of the year and the club hasn't said a peep about its "conversations" with the AFL (Collingwood) about the prison bars.

Beggars belief, really.

Club is so spineless. And dumb. There's not much that'd distract from the shitshow that has been our first two weeks, but one that would is saying we're going to wear the PB's, even if the AFL sanctions us.

What 'beggars belief' is after yet another shitfest thrashing on Saturday night - a home game meant to honour the legacy and legend of the late Russell Ebert - that someone really thinks the thing the Club really needs to focus on for the next few days is publicity around the prison bars 'discussion' prior to an away showdown against the Crows.

It would, rightly, be viewed by the media as an attempt to take the focus off our woeful onfield performance in the past 3 games.

Can tell you that 99% of the people who were at the game on Saturday night did NOT go home thinking about the bloody prison bars.

What a shit take!
They absolutely should, it’s a reassertion of who we are and what we should be standing for. It is also one of the games they say they are fighting for. It’s yet another reason to hate and want to destroy the Crows on Friday.

**** this vanilla shit!

fu** this vanilla shit!
Feel better now? Yelling and screaming on social media to like minded supporters didn't change a bloody thing did it?

And the 'vanilla take' is to talk about it, yet again. Going over the same ground achieving nothing. Again. And this thread is about to enter its 4th year.

You've been drinking too much of the old Big Footy cool aid. Thinking that big talk means something. It's all PISS and Wind. Signifying NOTHING.

Here's an idea - our Club should stop the talk and announce it when it's done. That's what smart footy clubs do. It's what I want my club to do. And in between something happening in relation to the prison bars - how about producing results on the field to make wearing those bars actually mean something.

F*** this BS notion of announcements and press releases about what you're 'gonna do' or wanna do' achieving something.

It doesn't.

It is, IMHO, the embodiment of limp dick vanillarisation.

Don't Talk. DO!

Then Talk!

Yelling and screaming? Have a word with yourself, get over the victim complex. Save it for one of the nonsense threads.

Here’s an idea, it takes constant public pressure to change minds in politics, your little dream world where they can get it done by asking nicely is pretty deluded.

My post (shit-take by your view) was in response to someone wanting the club to talk about 'conversations' they are having with the AFL and Collingwood on the prison bars.

3 days after an embarrassing home loss in a game to celebrate the life of the greatest man to ever wear the prison bars.

Now THAT'S Delusional.

How do you reckon the thousands of Port fans who turned up to watch that shit fest on Saturday night (many of them - including me - the same ones who turned up to watch our embarrassing Prelim final thrashing) would react if the Club did that?

I just reckon that this week we've got more important things to have a public whine about than what jumper we wear in an away showdown. And it doesn't mean that action isn't happening behind the scenes just that it isn't being broadcast (oh, and fyi -I do understand how lobbying works politics. quite intimately actually - lol).
But hey keep yelling! That always works.

You keep saying I’m yelling, where?
You must be missing PapaG and looking for someone else to ream you.
Sorry, but I’m not getting involved in your kink.

Papa G constantly got schooled on matters of fact in the covid thread and so he resorted to personal abuse of posters that disagreed with him and mocking those who died. Calling kids who lost their parents through the pandemic -'MOngs' being just one of his charming posts. He is now suspended.

Rest assured I have no shame in saying I dared to challenge some of his more disgraceful posts in the covid thread.

And here you are referencing him and being 'reamed' in what you think is a clever attack on my post relating to prison bars?

Wow. Just Wow!

Regardless of current form, actually following through on the bars issue sets a precedent that the club stands up for itself. That could only help in creating a good culture and ultimately on field success will be more likely to follow one would assume.

Exactly!
The Facebook page alone the last six days has had a reach over way over 20,000 (with no boosts).
Which means it’s as important to the fans as ever!

But we should stay quiet according to Festerz, who may be Richo!
