Wouldn't just be points. More likely to be excluded from the first 3 rounds of the draft plus a 6 figure fine. Regards, Gil.
Worth it to show them up for the twats they are.

We then go to court and make more back.

We then have motivation to **** them all over AND keep wearing them.

I'm IN!!

So in other words, he knows that there is no legal leg to stand on and in fact that the behaviour of his predecessor in drafting and signing that 2007 agreement would not hold up if matters get legal.

This is all about helping Collingwood, a power Victorian club, save face. IMO we should be pushing harder, not softer, because we'll end up being served table scraps and told to love it.
He knows the legal legs to stand on, better than anyone, on more than just the 2007 agreement. 2007 agreement was about heritage round. There is a lot more to this than just heritage round. Its up to us to discover any legal weakness. The AFL or Browne wont volunteer it.

But did anyone check with Collingwood about this?

Good thing there aren't any other teams who wear red, yellow and blue in the league.

What's that? There are multiple other teams who wear red, yellow and blue? And one of them is Brisbane's direct and only intrastate opposition?

Hmm.

As much as I love the passion here does anyone realistically think Koch and crew would get us to wear the PB's without AFL approval?

Even now as members we still haven't had a courtesy email documenting exactly what we're asking for.

Face it, we're white noise and the Club is really only paying lip service to wearing them. They don't care.......

Probably an over reaction, but the new prez is already behaving like the previous one, so strike while the iron is hot...

Absolutely correct. Great time to do it, cashing in on the rising resentment of the wobbles regarding many issues.
Any amount of noticeable anti wobbles sentiment can only benefit our case to wear the PRISON BARS.
It then may become Port v wobbles as opposed to Port v (melbun based) vfl teams situation, which surely can only further the cause

If there were a real legal stand to stop us, it would have been used by now.

Nah - the AFL does everything it can to avoid going to the supreme/federal court. Bluff and bluster does the job.

The counter argument is, if there was nothing stopping us, Boulton, Bucky and others would have done everything possible to say, you can't stop us wearing them.

This is a grey area and it will probably only ever be settled in court. What does the AFL licence agreement say? That detail is where the devil is probably laying. Have you ever seen and read it? I haven't.

McLachlan is on record not so long ago as admitting our request is ‘reasonable’.

Put the damn pressure on him. He wants to leave no fuss behind, and we’re talking of the last match of the season (for us) to be followed by a bye.

If our Club had any media or communications personnel worth their salt, any sub-contracted publicist with half a clue, our underdog story and our morally superior position would be put out there in no uncertain terms across two or three weekends of national press.

The timing is ideal. Our new Museum provides endless supporting visuals never before seen and anecdotes never before heard. We could pile on quality spin that would be not only real, true to life, and wholly entertaining, it would show up Collingwood to be the Victorian dinosaur, the dull, difficult and dodgy neighbour they are in this neighbourhood spat.

But do we have any such competent media, communications and/or publicity assets available to us? Of course we do. Are we going to make the effort that is needed? Of course we won’t.

We’ll just toss a bone to Rucci.

Duplicate of a post I’ve just put on the traditional sticky thread:

I'm sorry but it'll be a dead rubber, with excuses rolling galore as to why Ken stays on & what we are gonna be like YAY PRISON BARS!

A bigger meh I could not imagine.

We’ll get done in a dead rubber at the end of the season wearing the BiB jumper.

Wear the PBs as an act of defiance in the last round Showdown where we need to win to make finals.

Win by plenty.

Have the AFL dock us the 4 pts from the game for wearing an unauthorised strip thereby cementing our 9th place finish.

Sack Hinkley for not achieving his 2023 contract extension requirement of making finals.

Dream scenario.

Pretty disappointed that the club hasn’t released many training galleries during the season to show who was the hidden hero each week. Think I’ve seen like 1 person wearing the Prison Bars at training this year.

Remember when Fitzroy cracked the sads and the Crows weren’t able to use blue, red and gold on entry? Oh that’s right didn’t happen.

Unfortunately many positions filled by the club in those spaces are by young uni/tafe graduates who have little to no affiliation with the club prior to getting the job.

It's just a job, they have little understanding of what makes the club tick or what the die hards actually want to see. Instead we get some vanilla teal power franchise crap.

Well said, unfortunately

Just wear them. The guts to just wear them and to push back against an injustice will overall make us a better club that is more likely to win a premiership.

They've got 1 chance at getting people to smile at the back end of this year. Koch and Richardson have 1 chance to salvage some of their legacy. If they lead us into battle for the Prison Bars, they can at least say they achieved that instead of nothing. Just do it.

Of course they won’t, they will barely wear them WITH permission.
