This isn't an actual professional sports competition, it's just a curious local Melbourne game played and administered mostly by private school boys that has been able to hoodwink the public into being interested, thus garnering lots of money to pay its participants lots of money. It then has a few satellite teams in other cities to bring in more money, not unlike how McDonald's has franchises in big country towns. It's stupid that we even follow it.

Soccer has tried, but ultimately failed. So it’s what we have :).

It's stupid that Western and South Australians have relegated themselves to 2nd class citizens in order to compete in the VFL.

The starting position should be every home game. The 'compromise' should be every home game except against Collingwood. Even that I think is unfair, but I could live with it.

The fact that our starting position needs to be only two games a year is ludicrous. And the fact that even that has been knocked back is even more ludicrous.

Not often I would quote fiveAA, but not bad here... from 7:50

Why even call it a "heritage jumper"? To me, that diminishes its status to something that was worn in the past. There's no reason whatsoever why it needs to be viewed as such.
Once we are wearing it regularly that becomes the case, until then I guess it is.

Eddie McGuire Makes Big Call On Broadcast Future In Fox Footy Shake-Up

After more than a decade heading up the AFL coverage on Fox Footy, Eddie McGuire won't feature on the network in 2022.

As reported by SEN, the Victorian media personality has parted ways with Fox Sports, having served as a commentator and host on their footy coverage for many years. His departures coincides with the arrival of Nathan Buckley to the Fox Footy stable, the network having snapped up the in-demand former Magpies coach following the end of his time at Collingwood last year.

McGuire, 57, has been scaling back his significant public duties in recent years.

He also no longer features on Triple M Melbourne, while he resigned from his position as Collingwood president in the wake of the club's 'Do Better' report.
McGuire will still host Nine's "Footy Classified" program on Wednesday night as well as quiz show "Millionaire Hot Seat."

While he won't feature on Fox Footy this year, McGuire's influence on the Australian broadcast landscape will remain strong.
McGuire continues as chairman of prolific production company JAM TV, ensuring he is still a major part of Australian rules media.

I heard a couple of snippets of AA in the car on the way to the pool and then on the way home an hour or so later.
Both times KG kept muttering "Just put it to bed once and for all. I'm sick of it."
Why he thinks it's got anything to do with him is anyone's guess but the frustration in his voice was quite amusing.

Graham went on to say "they'll make a big song and dance about it, like they always do, and that will detract from the Crows marketing of their home Showdown" Is he serious? Does he think that Port wearing the bars and making noise about it will mean FEWER people will attend their home game?
They'll show up in droves on the off chance they'll beat "Paw Paaa" wearing the "real Port's" guernsey.
