Why have we been going the “good nature” approach when they’ve consistently been absolute dicks? Just **** dealing with them anymore. It has to and should always be an AFL matter.
'Working it out with Collingwood' doesn't mean anything. Its an excuse used by Port and the AFL to do nothing.

By the AFL.

The club genuinely want it, they are just going about it in a way that isn’t working.

I think blaming Kochie and your board is lazy and easy to do when the club is not as successful as it would like to be. It is 100% Collingwood's fault.

respectfully, it is our club and not any of the other 17 clubs that is holding us back. we made a petition 10,000 strong letting the club know we want to wear the bars full time - (for the upcoming 2020 season, mind you...) they took that, threw it in the bin, made up a new petition (why? no good reason, just "it would seem more official" and "be taken more seriously") saying we want the bars in showdowns only, got over 40,000 signatures then just sat on it. hid behind the vague threat of "being taken to court" (which nobody believes, another juicy media story), David Koch telling us we'd be docked points (despite that not being in the leagues rules for such an incident, more juicy news).

I don't suppose that'll eventuate, but if it did...

Port counsel to AFL: So you're happy to leave this to the two clubs to resolve?

AFL: Yes

Port Counsel: So if there were an agreement you would have no objection to the Prison Bar jumper being worn?

AFL: No

Port Counsel: So it's not about the jumper, which happens to use the same two colours, but a manifestly different design?

AFL: Well, it does have horizontal stripes...

Port Counsel: As do Hawthorn and North Melbourne

AFL: Different colours though

Port Counsel: Carlton and Geelong have the same colours but a different design...

AFL: Exactly

Port Counsel: Exactly. No further questions Your Honour.
AFL: Well, it does have horizontal stripes...

Port Counsel: As do Hawthorn and North Melbourne

Really? Horizontal stripes? I thought that was Geelong...

This is up there with the anti vax argument for me. Just so *ingg dumb and illogical it blows my mind
There's no logic, it's politics.

All about point scoring and control.

If I was running the club I’d be getting those Southport jumpers made up for next year as a strip.

Apparently they are ok because they aren’t the prison bars???

So it’s no longer a colour issue it’s a design issue??? Cool cool we can ditch the teal then.

Reckon we'd lose more friends than enemies if we did that.

Who are you talking about?? It’s been said playing nice has backfired.

This club doesn’t care about friends. You think we were worried about loosing friends when we left the SANFL for the AFL?

Sitting on our hands gets us no where. Time to stir the pot.

i was watching 2003 highlights of our game against Carlton wearing the PB's.

Holy shit the likes of Warren & Peter B donning that guernsey, that is seriously one sexy jumper.

Collingwood could only ever dream of wearing anything close to that two shade design.

It amazes me why so many fans of oppositions clubs care about this so much. Socials are flooded with idiots who are strongly against this even though it doesn't affect them one bit, and they can't all be Collingwood and Crows fans.
"Port Power is not associated with The Port Adelaide Football Club in the SANFL, it's a completely separate club that started from scratch, if you don't like it, GO BACK to the SANFL."

Neutrals. The Southport guernsey is a good example of hypocrisy but we shouldn't drag them into our fight.

I've been of the opinion that we should just wear it because I doubt the AFL has the balls to fine us.

"Get over it, you're not the Magpies in the AFL, stop trying to steal another clubs history. This is punishment for 1990"
