Jon Ralph reporting that Collingwood are extending a "peace offering" to Port saying they can wear the bars once a year if the white in the jersey is substituted for teal.

Peace offering? Ralph and Collingwood can GAGF.

If it were to ever come down to wearing the bars with different colours it is absolutely no other club's choice as to when or where Port wears it.

WTAF? If we were happy to sub white for teal we would’ve already done it. That’s not a concession at all.

This whole fiasco is getting dumber and dumber by the minute.

I know my contributions are not popular on this thread but I think Collingwood's stance here has potentially been incorrectly reported by Ralph.

The offer from Collingwood most likely would have been something like the following:
  • Wear black and white original prison bars for 1 home game a year (i.e. Heritage Round or Showdown)
  • Wear black and teal prison bars for other 10 home games

I suggest we not deal in hypotheticals and instead respond solely to the reporting, regardless of how factual you or I think it is. That you are trying to deescalate the situation shows to the absurdity of Collingwoods proposal if indeed Ralph's reporting is correct.

So they’ve changed their mind in a few days and made a concession?

Ok

Just makes them look even more ridiculous.

a) if Collingwood has offered this, Koch would've bitten their arm off already.

b) if we were going to bastardise the PBs for non-Showdown games, we would do it home and away and we wouldn't need any sort of blessing from Collingwood.

Collingwood can get nicked on making terms with us about our jumper for 100+ years. Piss off.

If that's for real just wear the pylons and cop the 4 points. Utterly ridiculous.

This shows just how unrealistic it is to think we can 'negotiate' our way out of this situation. They literally wouldn't even let us wear a PB guernsey in black and teal more than once a year. The only way around this problem is just to ram straight through it and not give a shit about the consequences.

100%. This reinforces that they just think of it as a big joke and they've got zero interest in engaging in the discussion in good faith. They are happy just kicking it down the road, laughing it up that we should wear teal or magenta or whatever other bullshit they want to impose on us.

TBH its pretty offensive reading an article like that on a major news website that just mocks an issue that is actually serious to a large part of our club's supporter base.
