I'd rather home showdown and Anzac round which is essentially a guaranteed Port home game.

... and guaranteed not against Collingwood.

Been having a read of the Collingwood board the last few nights, and they seem to generally support a black and silver prison bars jumper.

I have to admit I would be happy with us wearing black and silver prison bars for all home games, silver and black prison bars for all away games/clash strip, and black and white prison bars for ANZAC and home showdown for heritage reasons. I would argue for the neck and arm cuffs to remain white, and the backs of the jumpers to remain as is.

In fact I'd be extremely happy with this move, it would be like finally coming home.

Totally agree but I also rankle at Crows acting like it's something they have a say in so I'd be open to it just to say FU to them.
It doesnt clash with their strip. So no they can't complain. At least not in every professional sporting league in the world thats how it works

Yeah ive been for a black and silver bars for home games with a teal and white away and traditonal kit a couple of times a year for a while now

Would prefer silver and black away and teal fired into the sun, but yeh at some point a compromise needs to be met.

2023 - new coach, prison bars for every round, bring it on.
Women's team wearing the same kit.

Imagine the merchandise sales...

We should be wearing clash jumpers against each other regardless. Granted their navy isn't a Carlton level of near black but it looks far cleaner as a black vs yellow or navy vs silver match up

I think we should just bite the bullet and wear a magenta on teal PB guernsey. That way Collingwood doesn't get upset and we can keep our dignity as the more mature club.

nana changing GIF

I used to feel this way, but have changed my stance tbh. If we can't wear the black / white PB's full time, I'd rather see us in Black/Silver bars with the option of wearing black/white on occasion, than wearing the teal chevs which for whatever reason don't feel like Port Adelaide.

Why is teal seen as an unreasonable compromise and sign of weakness in our cause to wear our guernsey, but silver isn't?

Silver is the closest thing to white I would say as the reasoning. Plus it would look decent as a compromise unlike teal which would be an abomination.

When we can wear the real PB’s anytime we want, then we can talk alternatives. Until then all wearing one would do is ensure we never get the real deal.

Also why should we allow yet another club to tell us what we can and can't wear when it's none of their business. Do they tell anyone else what they can and can't wear against them? No, they can get ****ed it's nothing to do with them.

Slappy they are still upset over the state of origin jumper debacle

Yeah but again that also was nothing to do with us, just their own freakout like toddlers because we have something they don't. It was bizarre then just like their fans melt over what we wear now. As a club it's nothing to do with them what we wear as our away uniform, it's between us and the AFL. We can't even entertain going into discussions with them as it's weakness that just means another club is "allowing" us to wear our guernseys which is a load of tripe.

They are unable to understand the difference between us wearing a jumper worn by PAFC players for over a century and then wearing a SA representative jumper they have no right to.

They are also deluded to think Eddie sees it as different, he only drops it into the conversation to cause this type of discusssion.

Prior to the addition of teal, the club put forward silver and it was knocked on the head by the afl as it was not contrasting enough from white. We would be having as much of a headache pushing silver bars as we do with white bars.

Teal was sold a lie by our club as its most popular colour because it followed the marketing gurus assessment and the outsiders telling us ad nauseam that we had to move away from black and white if we wanted to grow our supporter base. It was a HUGE fail.

Silver and teal on the PB is not what we've been wearing for more than a century and loving whilst winning bucket loads of premierships.

Mature fair sporting organisations don't waste time with these issues. They have a simple solution, the away team changes strip. We all know this.

If afl clubs can wear identical jumper designs then they can wear identical colour schemes.

As a journo once said, us wearing the B&W PB doesn't make Collingwood any less Collingwood.

The narrative needs to change to be that it is time for Collingwood and the AFL to grow up rather than Port to compromise all and sundry forever.

Maybe it's a very very light silver?
I personally like teal blue.
It has it's place on our Guernsey eg. the logo, or one chevron, or piping.

But NEVER as a primary colour forming part of our PB kit.

For me - it's always black and white ONLY, or else it dilutes what the PB stands for.

If we include the silver (read "grey" that most people seem to call silver) then it should be about one and a half shades (at most) off of pure white, such that the two are barely distinguishable from one another. 🤔
