Are we? It feels like we're miles off getting what we want. The AFL comp is more Victorian biased than ever, they'll just keep saying no forever and there's nothing we can really do about it.

They want us to feel this way, but if we persist, we'll get what the club is currently requesting at the very least.

In general I agree with you. I've often said if we entered the league in 1997 with teal bars on black we'd still have them now and have had far less of an identity crisis, but at this point any compromise waters down our argument and basically rules out ever wearing the bars on a regular basis forever.

There is plenty we can do about it, starting with running out in the bars this weekend in Brisbane. All it takes is some will on the part of the PAFC administration.

There will come a day when we have a club admin that will just wear it and deal with the consequences.

Whenever there are seasons where we are ruled out of finals early, we rock up and wear it. 4 points means nothing in that case.

The docking of premiership points are a hollow threat IMO. There is too much money from betting involved for the club the be stripped of points for wearing a 'non-approved' guernsey.
Especially for a "non-approved" guernsey that we've worn numerous times before in the AFL.

Feel like there is a demographic clash within the opinions here

Those that cant remember port Adelaide's 1sts wearing the prison bars week in week out want nothing other than the Prison bars as we know them full time

Whilst people that are too young to remember but also want to celebrate the history of the jumper

(and the premierships/acts that occurred in that jumper that lead us being the only club outside of Victoria to crack into the national league - what people miss when they yell "lOoK aT aLl tHeSE gUeRnSeYs YoUvE wOrN iN ThE pAsT", only heritage jumpers we should wear are the prison bars and once we can wear that wear the birthday suit baby blue and white on ocasion too.)

Are content with wearing the Bars as we know them Once or twice a year and are fine with embracing the colours we have into the prison bar design the rest of the time/staying with the chevrons

Going to be barracking hard for St Kilda tonight. #****Collingwood
Collingwood is basically Russia to me, a mob of chest out muppets bullied by a psychopath.

Ok, so there is diversity in opinion on whether we have grey PB's\chevrons or hold out for white PB's.
I accept there are different opinions.

What we have to not do is be divided by those differences in opinions.

Piss off Hinkley and any other VFL puppets, start winning the important games and get the prison bars out there.

Collingwood aren't the problem. Pushing back against any real or perceived threat to their brand is exactly what Collingwood should be doing, and exactly what I would want and expect them to do if I was a Collingwood supporter.

The problem is the AFL. They should be looking to maximise the earning potential of all of their clubs rather than favouring one over the other, but they don't. They listen to Collingwood because they're a big Victorian club and we're not.

I reckon Collingwood want a cut of our merch sales if we ever get the nod to wear it a few times a year.

Agree.

We shouldn't recognise Collingwood's seat at the table in this discussion. We shouldn't be signing anything that Collingwood is a signatory to. If their opposition is the only thing holding us back, just wear the guernsey and put the ball back in the AFL's court to punish us if they like.

Yep.

It's Gil. The weakest CEO the AFL has ever had.

Collingwood are the problem. AFL wouldn't care if Collingwood weren't throwing tantrums. Now, whether or not that should be the case is fair to discuss, but that's how it is.

If Collingwood said whatever, the AFL would have no good reason to deny it.

The AFL shouldn't care whether Collingwood are having tantrums or not. Collingwood have no power here, the power lies with the AFL. We win this when the AFL change their mind, not when Collingwood do.

Oh God, I'm watching the Raptors play the Bulls in Chicago. The Raptors are wearing a Red white and black uniform!! I don't know who I'm watching, which teams which!?

Surely the Chicago Bulls would be deeply concerned about their brand and image being infringed and protecting their IP from a newer, expansion team that joined their league? Surely the NBA would be siding with the older, bigger, local franchise on this issue?

Because it ain't happening!!!

Did anyone really think we'd find a set of balls before round 2? Ironically the only slim chance I see of them this year, is the Hinkley situation becomes so untenable, that they wheel out the PB's to distract the masses.
