PLUS Your club board comp is now up!
Because Channel 7 usually only shows games between Victorian clubs, since most AFL viewers live in victoria. Is it just me or do we almost always get the fox sports broadcasting/commentry team for Eagles games?
How come there arnt many Eagles games with the channel 7 team?
I really cant stand some of the fox sports guys e.g. dwayne russel.
The standard of television commentary is terrible across the board IMO. It seems they feel as though they have to project their personality over the game and usually do so in a premeditated, artificial manner.
Dennis is great when he just calls the game and let's the situation create humorous scenarios. I think he does that more these days, which is good. He went through a period of trying to force gags into the game.
I think Mark Readings is a very good caller and should be promoted from Foxtel Cup to the AFL.
Generally, ABC radio commentators do a great job.
Yeah Huddo's very good.
In 2006 we still had about 13 foxtel broadcast gamesBecause we were shithouse last year, basically.
The bigger games featuring the better-performed clubs get the better timeslots and get on free to air.
We don't get C7 commentators unless we get C7 games. Most of our FTA games are Foxtel games which C7 Perth elect to broadcast in place of the assigned C7 game.
Fox is a mixed bag. Eddie is just awful, Dwayne Russell not far behind, Tony Shaw knows less than Jon Snow, Alistair Lynch is a bit simple. Dermott talks too much and complicates the simple, and David King/Brad Johnson overdo the pre-game/mid-game analysis.
Gerard Healy is pretty measured on most things excluding Nic Naitanui, Mark Ricciuto like Nafan Buckley has no on camera charisma but understands footy and makes intelligent observations on what he sees rather than just regurgitating statistics put in front of him, Dunstall is OK and Huddo & Sandy are actually professional callers of sport rather than just ex-players with no other skills.
