Whilst you raise valid points I still reckon he polls pretty easily. Lets look at the stats:
- 11 effective kicks (2nd behind Higgins)
- 9 inside 50's (1st by 3)
- 10 contested possesions (3rd behind Cross and O'Keefe)
- 7 tackles
- 2 goals

I can't remember what he was doing when dogs went 13 on the trot but either way he's still played a blinder. Also it is Goodes so no doubt his effort won't go unoticed.

I reckon it'll go: Gia, Goodes, Higgins/Cooney

i reckon steve johnson is a big chance to get votes yesterday. noticed he wasn't in the top 5 geelong players in todays herald sun...either i have no idea or the bloke who did the game was drunk????? do any of you blokes know if he is historically a good poller? does he get noticed?

also keeping a very close eye on s.black...currently 26/1. right up there with goodes as a super umpire best friend and the lions are winning a few games. they have melbourne this week and i reckon he could be one more big game away from being backed into 12's.

ablett quiet yesterday and hopefully quiet v. kornes and clinton jones for the next 2 weeks and it could be wide open again!!!!!

Agreed. It was his worst game for a while. Even worse than the Melbourne game where he was injured. Although Freo did Block him at the stoppages, and mauled him whenever he got the ball.

Knowing the umpires they wouldn've even considered Enright's performance yesterday.

It wasn't Stevie J's best game. I personally thought Sandilands was Bog myself, then it would probably go Byrnes then Enright.

I can't see how you would name Johnson in the best when his opponent had 29 touches, or ablett when he only had 5 kicks for the day.
