edit. doing some recon work and the second leading scorer, Aaron Ayre is only 22. Perhaps if he backs it up then higher honours could await for the youngster.

Got in early here but he is also a rookie listed player as the Bushrangers sign Jake Haberfield after leading Footscray - Edgewater to the District flag and ex NSW quick Chris Tremain - 22 to round out our list for the 13/14 season.

Victoria will look to Chris Tremain and Jake Haberfieldas much-needed pace reinforcements as the Bushrangers hope to improve on a dire 2013-14 next summer.

Tremain, 22, has been recruited from New South Wales after Victoria also flirted with the recruitment of the allrounder Sean Abbott. In six Sheffield Shield matches for the Blues, Tremain has bowled decently, claiming 18 wickets at 31.72 including six for the match on debut against Victoria in 2012.

Tremain bowler who hails from Orange in the central west of NSW and previously played for UNSW in the Sydney Grade competition. He is a big strong fast bowler who simply lacked opportunities in NSW and should be a worthwhile addition but he's not super quick and he's not a monster either. Bowls good outswing at a good pace when he gets it right. Played for the Thunder in the BBL.

Can we find someone with genuine ******* pace for once?

There is a genuine dearth of them - I have my theories on why but there just isn't the number around at any level like there used to be. We were having a chat locally about scary fast bowlers and they just are not around. In Victoria I suggest it's footy that has stifled it, but it appears to be common at across all states.

Jimmy Pattinson and PEter Siddle are ours but they're up with the national side.

Seems if your quick then you'll be looked at for higher honours
Siddle isn't quick anymore

high 130's is quick enough at international level. Is express at shield level

I don't think high 130's classifies you as quick at international level, if you are not 140+ at international level, then you have gotta have a few tricks and if you don't move it both ways either in the air or off the pitch you are in big trouble. Dizzy Gillespie went from the penthouse to the outhouse in record time once he dropped from the 140's to the 130's. If Hastings is the leader of our Shield attack as good a player as he is - then we are in trouble.

When opposition openers barely scratch 130km/h, high 130's is decent enough. I agree that if the Duke is leading the Bushrangers attack then we are in some trouble. Notcie Herrick has turned up in Tasmania after being dropped by the Bushrangers.

Do you know of his New Zealand connection? Noticed that he's played a bit of T20 for Northern Districts over there.
